That new Zenit curve is cool but as a glass blower, it would be better if they had just done the whole thing in quartz glass. no matter the thickness, reheating it and just letting it cool without it getting annealed in a kiln every so often is going to cause stress in the glass and it will break eventually. highly suggest an all quartz piece for that...then the thickness wont matter thicker will hold heat longer thinner will heat faster, no cracks.
