I'm disappointed that John Olsteen had the vision for Joel to take over his church, but failed to tell him to go to seminary so he knew what the bible said rather than preaching all the warm and fuzzy parts to make people feel good about themselves.

Those who keep John´s videos from the public will never receive the Grace and Gifts from God that made John outstanding even years after his death. John Osteen (in Houston) was my first Pastor in 1976 back when Lakewood was a small church (after the feed barn but before the new sanctuary built across the street) before the had TV cameras & got on TV. The gospel of Christ is that we are all dead in our sins and the ONLY solution is Jesus' atoning work on the cross, where He paid for our sins. Having a happy life is not the gospel. I beleive this is a real pastor. His son is just a story teller. He (Joel) keeps the people happy with his jokes, but that's not what a pastor shoul do. What a shame.

you should not be critical or judgemental. Joel serves as a voice of God for this season, time and generation. He reaches those that he is called to minister to; as is all of our job. He is not his father and his father is not him. Just as you are not your parent and your parent is not you. The shame is your inability to see how God uses each of us differently

This is what people should watch.. The people before Joel Osteen that paved the way for the ministry he has today. Thanks... I made a v-line to the their store after the I went to a service at lakewood to find some media of John Olsteen and was saddend to see there wasn't any. I'm Catholic but I used to watch his sermons religously before mass. Miss him dearly..

I wish John Osteen was still alive. He could really preach!! I went to his church from about 1976 to around 1990 something. Started in the former sanctuary with all the buildings behind it before the new sanctuary was built across the street. I have old tapes from both churches of John. Wish I could find more of them. I too love John & miss him.

I have never seen or met this man of God, but his sermons on audio cassettes touched my heart and healed my mind at a time I was depressed and suicidal. He is one person I want to meet in heaven first!
