I think his point was the classic Al Gore claim that the Earth could end up like Venus (very hot and arid). However, it's complete nonsense: Venus is 26 MILLION MILES closer to the Sun than we are. It has a 97% CO2 atmosphere compared to our 0.04%. Classic snakeoil salesman tactics: Scare em with some bogus pseudo-science so they'll happily hand over billions in taxes and subsidies for fraudulent 'green energy' scams. CO2 only becomes toxic to humans above 5% levels - that's 50,000ppm - over 100x the current atmospheric levels.

CO2 is regularly used in the form of 'dry-ice' to create a harmless smokey atmosphere for theatre productions etc.

By contrast carbon monoxide becomes dangerous at 200ppm.
