ok, for all of you boo who'ers out there. im 35yrs old and just had this done sept 16th 2010 at 220pm at uniontown hospital pa norm. time should be 4 to 5 hours, mine took almost 8. i have nothing to complain about: my boys are back together. doctor ryan did a great job with little more than normal pain. what do you expect? infection? a cold? last time i checked i do not breath with my penis! they give you antibiotics when you leave the hospital. instead of assuming ask someone.

You guys are idiots. The mention of infections has to do with post surgical... infections FROM the surgery! No one is dumb enough to think that getting a vasectomy means that you will be immune from STDs. And even IF someone was dumb enough to think that, the doctors ALWAYS make that clear in the initial consult.

Well...I had one this morning, as I sit here with a bag of ice. I can answer the question above also. I thought I was done having children, but I remarried and really wish to give my wife the experience of having a child herself. We would very much like to do that. So that is the simple reason, of course. There is no other reason, obviously.

(Yes it hurts quite a lot. Maybe 3-4 times as much as the original procedure.)
