Thanks for the vid. Always like a free bit of software! But did you know you CAN do this in Soundtrack Pro, and with more control over the effect: Process > Effects > Dynamics > Compressor. Been using it the last few days and it's really useful.
@dennynaka Also, if Americans are so retarded, why are your people abandoning everything (homes, communities, families, friends, etc) to come here? Is it because Americans created a far better country and society than your people did? So who is truly retarded?
Normalization refers only to a uniform gain applied across an entire signal. The levelator does not normalize audio per say. It's a combination various processes - and would appear to me to be a glorified compressor. Still a good video that gets the idea across.
Wish they had a version that worked on mp3 files for podcast listeners (this tool only works on uncompressed audio files, which makes sense as it is designed for podcast producers). Many popular talk podcasts (e.g. NPR) are not normalized (or done poorly). When you're listening to a podcast while falling asleep, the light sleepers among us can be jarred out of our sleep by peaks in the sound (a loud laugh, an exitable response to a question, etc.)

Is there a version to normalize the audio in a video (avi) file?
UnderManiac 1 year ago
@UnderManiac you have to export just the audio from your video, drop it into the Levelator, process it and then re import the processed file.
