he was lucky to be wearing the new hans device, bc dale wasnt wearing it when he hit the wall at daytona back in 2001 which cost him his life, rip dale. i race sprint cars on dirt and i go about 130 tops and i hit the wall doin about 110, tie rod broke, and i was knocked out for 4 days, and he was goin 180+ and i cant see how he at least didnt get knocked out bc he hit the wall way harder than dale. but does anyone have an in car camera bc id like to see what was goin on in the car when he hit.

exactly. the 38 driven by David Gilliland had a loose oil line and it came off on his qualifying run. they laid out the speedy dry and when McMurray went out he said it was still slick. McDowell came out and must of his some oil. doesnt take much going 180MPH to spin a car out

you can see he had a good low line, but as soon as he hit that patch, the whole rear end kicked out and balm right into the wall, I'm glad they put those new barriers up.

that was a bad wreck, but it was because of the way he went in.. the worst part is when he shot up the track headfirst into the wall. The flipping over wouldn't have been bad, but the way he went up into the wall was just brutally dangerous. He wouldn't have had barely any time to react, one second he was straight, the next he was faceplanting turn 1.
