  • Mohawk boy has a helluva mohawk!

  • I am in London, England, UK. I have never been to America. I know nothing about Texas or the A&M or the Aggie War Hymn (whatever that is), but it is great to see the energy and enthusiasm of lots of young people enjoying themselves. I like the spontaneous outbrak of singing at the end. These people are the future (whatever that is)! :)

  • @johnloony That singing is the school fight song. You should search Aggie war hymn way on youtube. The stadium actually rocks a bit from all the students and alum swaying side to side.

  • I graduated from Texas A&M 23 years ago and I met my husband in the flag room. It makes me sad we won't be able to go see it anymore. These kids are great, though. What an amazing school A&M is, never forget how fortunate you are to go there!

  • Thanks for polluting a great Texas A&M video with your whiny political bullshit.

  • If the purpose of the rave was to "unite all Aggies" then it failed. If this many people are offended then it shouldn't have happened. Why is everyone cussing at each other? Is that how Aggies are supposed to act, especially towards each other? We all love this university but we're trash talking fellow students. This rave didn't unite Aggies, it divided them. If you think the rave was fine then at least respect those who were offended, not insult them. We're Aggies so let's act like it.

  • Great. This is such a Fish Camp type of stunt. Dye your hair green, wear you tie dye shirts, and throw your free spirited sober fun parties on your own time and place. Not in our sacred place of study, relaxation, and Memorial.

  • Successful trolls are successful.

  • BADASS. everyone should calm down and enjoy the uniting of aggies that occurred in this video. the ending is awesome. WHOOP!

  • Good God everybody you all sound like a bunch of little bitches. They threw a rave in the MSC and it was a blast. Nothing you say or do will change it so fucking get over it!!! Jeez!!

  • haha i could not agree with you more people are such a big fucking deal about this.

  • no kidding! They're just mad because they're all a bunch of party poopers and didnt get invited to the rave. Why dont you get the sand out of your vagina and learn how to have a good time. Nothing was damaged so fucking grow up.

Btw I hear basshunter's "Russian Privjet" at 1:00 lol thats a fucking tight song.

  • Really??? You're bitching because you weren't INVITED?

  • HAHAHA RIDICULOUS... are aggies not allowed to dance and have fun??? how is dancing against everything aggies stand for??? sorry that it's not two stepping.

  • We take our hats and covers off to enter this place... is this really in keeping of the spirit of that room and the building?

  • Is it dancing on someone's grave? Technically no, it is not. BUT, that is not the issue, the issue is that there are rooms that are closed off for this type of thing, student organizations use them all the time to host their functions and events. The bottom line is that the flag room was not an appropriate location for everyone to shake their asses and rub against each other.

  • Ring Dance was held in the flag room. There is a lot more "rubbing" against each other there. So are you also against Ring Dance?

  • The MSC is NOT the burial site for any of the fallen Medal of Honor winners nor any other Old Ags The MSC is only a tribute to them. So it is technically not "dancing on someone's grave."

  • the only difference between a grave and a memorial is the body. they are both place for the living to morn and remember those who were lost.

  • Hey, so for anyone with the "Would you dance on someone's grave?" argument, here's a fun little tidbit of information to silence you. RING DANCE, was held in the MSC this year, and has been traditionally held there since the 50's. It's Aggie tradition to "dance on their graves".

  • cool, lets all act like a bunch of fucking monkeys in the building dedicated to our fallen Aggie heroes, including my brother.

  • I do not agree with having a rave in the MSC.I mean we must remember it is nothing like an other campus' student union or whatever you call it and the other school. Idk I mean man I feel bad if I am even talking on my phone in the MSC or have sunglasses on my head.

  • btw, it was awesome being a part of this :D

  • hahaah only on youtube would a dance video turn into a religious flame war.

  • This is so awesome Im tearing up!

Not having the MSC for the next 3 years is going to be difficult, but this was the best goodbye i could ever imagine.

  • ...Last weekend I was in the MSC flagroom doing something quite like this, there was no crowd surfing, but there was a lot of dancing and yelling (yell practice). We also sang the War Hymn, that event was called Ring Dance. No one that participated in the flash rave had bad intentions, it was just a way for everyone to express themselves together and to have fun doing so. Save your loathing for people that deserve it, like MSC grass-walkers.

  • And you should LOOK at what they were doing and see that it wasn't a rave. I also don't see any "licentiousness, adultery and self-righteousness" in the video. If you see any adultry your eyes are MUCH better than mine and would you mind telling me where? Seriously, you are delusional. You have no way of looking into the hearts of the students in that video and knowing what their relationship is with God. Judge not lest ye... well you probably know the rest of that one, right?

  • i smell a troll

  • nbsax16 -

    1) I didn't give any orders. God did.

    2) I use the Federal Reserve's privatized dollar bills as little as possible.

3)Jesus himself referrred to the Bible as "dead men's words." What he meant is that even after you read that book, over and over, you must LIVE them to understand them...

  • Hey, superTRAMP, you should research the origins of "raves" and "rave" music. Seriously.

  • Are there ANY servants of God here?? Do ALL of you defend licentiousness, adultery and self-righteousness?? I just want people to THINK. As for those of you who "do as thou wilt," expecting a degree and the world in the palm of your hand, here's a piece of advice for you: It's a piece of paper. Just like our PRIVATIZED dollar bill. It has NO intrinsic value other than starting a fire (once it's been hyper-inflated).

  • How can we THINK if all we are doing is following orders like servants? And I am very curious as to how you live without any "privatized dollar bills." And I hate to say this, but the Bible is but a collection of paper, it isn't the value of the ink or the paper, but the meaning behind the words that of importance. The meaning behind this rave was in celebration, not worshiping false gods in a stupor.

  • You sound like a paranoid stoner. PRIVATIZED dollar. What is wrong with you? Were you not loved as a child? I hope you were because no one loves you now.

  • Comment removed

  • Insurgent, do you SEE any people in that video in a stupor, daze, SLEEPLIKE state, suspended animation, or profoundly abstracted? I don't. YOu have to be completely brain dead to see that. And even if you DO, what does that have to do with the Bible?

I see people dancing, singing the Aggie War Hymn, celebrating their love for the MSC in a joyous manner. Despite what it is called, look at what it is and grow a mind of your own.

  • He doesn't hate dancing. He hates dancing to false gods.

  • So our dancing at the MSC was directed to some false gods? Our dancing was directed to relieve stress from the end of the year and for us to give the MSC one last dance before they shut her down and give her a make over.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow you sound even stupider as i keep reading. Are you even a student here. Because if you are I don't know how you got in. I would love to beat your ass you stupid fuck. You are the only person here that is misintepreting God's word.

  • You statement makes no scene, there were no "Golden Cows" being worshiped there.

  • Very large raves, called "massives," may include ten or more separate arenas, each with their own style, ranging from hi-energy techno and TRANCE to chillout and ambient in the chillrooms situated next to or within the surroundings of the main event.[1]

    - Wikipedia

    Trance

    1 : stupor, daze

2 : a sleeplike state (as of deep hypnosis) usually characterized by partly suspended animation with diminished or absent sensory and motor activity

3 : a state of profound abstraction or absorption

  • I don't recall any TRANCE music being played there. The music was if anything, high energy techno.

  • 1. REALLY?!?! your trying to make a valid point by quoting Wikipedia?

    2. Trance is a genre of music. If you had ever gotten out of your comfort zone and tried new things you would realize that trance music is calm techno.

  • te van a matar wevon!!, te vas a ir a infierno.....ahhahahah

  • I mean no disrespect to anyone here. I'm disturbed by the number of "Christians" who don't even understand God's word. This isn't a joke. How silly do we look to the Court of Heaven by dancing and raving around - and I don't mean only this event in particular...

  • What does any of this have to do with anything? I don't understand AT ALL what a flash rave at the MSC has to do with understanding the word of God. I'm a Christian, but I'm finding it hard to put two and two together here.

  • Can you please quote some passages that state that God hates dancing?

  • Wow, I was reading these comments and thinking how stupid they were.....and then i came to yours and it takes the cake. You are an idiot. What the fuck does this have to do with God? People were'nt fucking and doing drugs. If God doesn't want us to have fun in life maybe i don't wanna worship him. You sir are a bible beating dipshit.

  • I thought we in this "Christian conservative" community were supposed to be glorifying the name of the Lord, not indulging into ANY other spirits, whether they be the christmas (pagan) spirit, the aggie spirit, etc...?

  • Christmas isn't Pagan in itself. YULE is Pagan. The celebration of Jesus' birthday was placed over December 25th to cover up the Pagan holiday of Yule by the church.

  • UMMM... last I checked A&M was a state school and there is supposed to be a seperation of Church and State in this wonderful country. As a Deist I do not appreciate automatically being grouped together in the stereotype that all Aggies are "Conservative Christians". Believe it or not A&M has a diverse campus.

  • The whole building is a memorial but it hasn't kept all sorts of things from being done there. There is a Hotel there for goodness sake. What do you want? Room monitors to make sure the occupants are being respectful? The Flag Room is the Flag Room. Half the time it is filled with sleeping students. The MSC isn't a graveyard. It is a memorial and it is also the 'living room' of all the students there. What you see as disrespect I see as a joyous way to say farewell to home away from home. Chill.

  • Sounds to me like YOU need to grow up, if you think raves are appropriate...in a Flag Room. What does a hotel have to do with anything? The Flag Room is the HEART of the MSC. The Flag Room is the HEART of the MSC. The Flag Room is the HEART of the MSC!!!! Yes, there are recreational things to do & places to eat in the building itself, but the FLAG ROOM is supposed to solely be a dedication room for those who died for you & me, so that you COULD have casino night there 26 years ago.

  • My daugther is a student at A&M. I have been in the MSC many times, and always sensed the profound respect that the University has for those students who have given their lives in defense of our nation. Once I forgot to take off my hat in the MSC, and was immediately reminded of the importance of that respect by a student. Having said all that, I can also say it is wonderful to see the students showing their unity and love for the old MSC and what it stands for. A&M is a very special school.

  • Just found out about this. OUTSTANDING!!! The MSC is a memorial, yes, but it is also a bowling alley, a bookstore, a resturant, and the location of casino night back in the 1980's when I was there. Anyone getting their panties in a wad over this need to seriously grow up. There is respect and there is worship. You can have fun in the MSC. If all anyone did in the MSC was hang their head in respect, who would mind shutting it down for three years? Rave on and Gig'em from the class of '82.

  • Thats what I like to hear! This was all in good fun and people need to get over it.

  • It's a shame the MSC will be shut down for renovations. Campus won't be the same without it.

Class of 2006 says no foul here. Why can't students celebrate in the "Living Room of Campus"?

  • 5:30 for the War hymn

7:24 for the MSC MSC chant.

Obviously Ags who enjoy the MSC and will miss it while it's closed for 3 years.

    gig'em, ags.

    Daniel, Class of '02

  • i personally don't like this at all.....what a shame

  • Everyone CHILL THE FUCK OUT. Jesus Chirst. God forbid some people try and shake some things up around here. It wasn't a disrespect to ANYONE. It's all good harmless fun.

  • wow, you're an idiot. For someone trying to tell people to chill about a rave party in the MSC, using curse words, and using the lord's name in vain twice in one sentence sure does show you know nothing of respect. So you probably have no clue what it means to be disrespectful.

  • First of all, this situation DESERVED curse words. And saying, "God forbid" or "Jesus Christ" is not using the Lord's name in vain. Everyone who is freaking out about this needs to calm down. This rave was meant to send out the MSC with a bang and to come together, as a school, to give it a much deserved goodbye.

  • Comment removed

  • Everybody needs to chill. This was a completly harmless event that promoted aggie spirit and comraderie. Yes it's a memorial but the soldiers who gave their lives did it so we could live in a free society where a demonstration like this is possible. Try getting groups of people together for any kind of demonstration in Communist China or North Korea. The fallen soldiers gave their lives so that we could live ours, what better way to commemorate their sacrifice than living life to the fullest?

  • And we all that the only way to have fun is to desecrate a war memorial.

  • My brother lives "life to the fullest" and spends most of his time drunk or high. The people who give their lives for this country didn't do it so we could just sit back here and party it up. An officer in Iraq said that the thing the soldiers overseas want most from their countrymen at home was for them to make this a country worth fighting for. They aren't dying over their so we can "live life to the fullest" without a care in the world. There is a time and a place but this was not the place.

  • Yes they did. Those soldiers in Iraq, in Vietnam, in the Revolutionary war - they all died to protect our rights to express ourselves freely and without fear of consequence and on that note i may not be a solider and i may be against the war in Iraq but if that war actually threatened my rights to freely express myself i would give my life fighting to protect them

  • It sure is easy to say what they're fighting for while sitting there in the comfort of your home especially when saying "IF...then I would give my life." What about all the soldiers dying in Afghanistan? Are you gonna tell me that they aren't dying to protect your rights to freely express yourself without the fear of being blown up by a terrorist act? You probably are cause if you did agree that they're defending your rights then that would mean you'd have to put your money where your mouth is.

  • Please tell me how Afghanistan is threatening my rights to freely express myself?

  • Well you see a few years ago, in case you forgot, these guys hijacked four planes and crashed them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania resulting in the deaths of almost 3000 Americans and they received their training and support in Afghanistan. Seems to me that it threatens not only the way you live but your very life.

  • That was a tragic incident that we hope wont be repeated. What made it so horrific is it was a threat that came from outside the US, however, more people die from auto accidents and illness. But 9/11 was not a detriment to Our Way of Life. In fact Bush asked that we pull together, spend more and not sell stocks, to show that 9/11 had no affect on the Our Way of Life; and it worked. And our reactions have protected the Our Way of Life while Americans are more at risk worldwide than ever before.

  • So in retrospect spending more and not selling stocks really worked out for us huh?

  • ne of our retaliations, our invasion into Iraq; because of the government's inference that Sadam somehow had a connection to 9/11, has now lead to terrible statistics. More soldiers have died in Iraq than civilians died in the Twin Towers. I for one believe that a soldier's live is as valuable as a civilian's. I support the military, just not the government that chooses to place them in danger to support a political agenda hidden behind the Flag as protecting the American Way of Life.

  • Hoping something won't be repeated does nothing to keep it from happening. If you really think that hope keeps bad things from happening then you are sorely mistaken. And if you're going to argue, stick to the topic at hand. We're talking about Afghanistan, not Iraq. Not stopping Al-Quaeda would've have shown weakness, an inability to stop them and would've opened the door for more attacks.

  • I really need to study now. I am working towards being in a position to help people think on their own and not be brainwashed by the rhetoric heaped on them by the government and the media.

  • Good for you. I'm working towards giving you and everyone else the right to keep doing that. And I know the statistics on the war and 9/11 and the personal side of both.

  • You're comparing Ring Dance to this? Ring Dance at least doesn't have a bunch of punk ass freshmen kids running around, crowd surfing, trashing the MSC, and standing where all of the flags are grounded in. Y'all seriously are an absolute joke to this university. I really thought that I had joined a great university that respected time-honored tributes until I saw this CRAP. Funny how this happens at the very end of my senior year. Leave it to you deuschbags to screw it up.

  • It's CORPS moron, and while I don't agree with the calling out of specifically freshman, he's obviously calling out those who obviously have no sense of the time-honored Aggie traditions and sense of honor, like yourself, b/c you're obviously one of those people who hate the Corps because people like Kenny Ryan tell you to, and so you avoid actually having anything to do with someone in it in order to get your own perspective.

  • To be fair, I was surround by a bunch of corps members and they were having a blast. Not all corps members are douche bags...the bottom line is this was put on by a group of people that spend all their time IN the MSC. Most of them have more respect than the average person for this building because it truly matters to them. I personally saw faculty and staff enjoying the flash rave, and if they can we should. Ring dance has a bunch of half drunk ags grinding to fergie. Atleast this caused unity.

  • Mixed feelings.....

  • whoop. word.

  • Desecration of a war memorial.....

Do you intend to have one in front of the vietnam wall next?maybe around the base of the san jacinto monument would be a good thing.

It would have been fine in rudder plaza, just not IN the MSC.

New Army has even gone to hell....

  • Ok well I was there, and it was totally amazing. Yes this is a Memorial Student Center, and I can see where you are coming from, but we can't be just all depressed and mournful while in there. All this was was to bring everyone together for one last time before they close it down and build another MSC. The officials were ok with this and everyone enjoyed it, so I don't know why you have to get all P-Oed. We hurt nothing, but gained a positive memory to last a lifetime.

  • one thing is being depressed and mournful...another thing is being respectful.

if we are so hard on even wearing a hat in the MSC out of RESPECT...how does a rave party fit in the picture?

  • If the problem is crazy dancing in the MSC think about this: Ring Dance is in the MSC, not only is that 4 or 5 rooms of live bands/ DJs and dancing, its also gambling. And we sung the war hymn and chanted "M-S-C" at the end. This was just a great way for all of us to to come together as a student body in the MSC for a last hoorah! GIG EM!

  • ALRIGHT, LETS MAKE A TRIP TO WASHINGTON AND GO RAVE AT THE VIETNAM WAR MEMORIAL, THEN WE CAN HEAD TO THE TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER AND WRAP IT ALL UP AT ARLINGTON CEMETERY.

Really, this is a fun idea, but you picked the absolute worst place for it. There is a time and a place for everything, and a memorial center for Aggies who gave their lives is not the place.

  • .ingenious... bye MSC i love you

  • that's funny

    Good bull

  • we have to do it agian hows my room sound

  • definitely think if this happens one more time it will be one of the best traditions ever!

  • Reminds me of an Obama rally... mindless mob makes mayhem at MSC

  • This made studying today so much more tolerable...well, kinda...ok not really, but it was awesome nonetheless!!!

  • Hey! im right there in front. in the brown shirt, cool, lol

  • I think this is my favorite video that has been uploaded so far. Mostly because of the Punk as Fuck Kid doing the war hymn.

    "WE GOTTA STAY POSITIVE"

  • YESSSS! i am proud to be an aggie! i love my school! AAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • I love being an Aggie.

  • actually i had friends in the corps who participated.

the msc is closing and any current student will not get to use it until after they graduate. this was our way to show our love to it. we even made a sign that said "goodbye msc".

also, the tradition of not walking on the grass came because the university couldn't keep up with the upkeep costs of the grass and so to prevent people from walking... tradition. and that came from a member of the corps.

  • Actually, the tradition of only Seniors walking on the grass originated from upkeep costs. MSC grass has always been "off-limits." It's the same reason you don't walk on grass at memorial cemeteries and monuments.

I believe you tried to use that on the FB group for this dumb event, and since you're clearly so misinformed as to use it twice I figured I'd set you straight.

  • Or a bunch of ignorant corps douches

  • While I agree with this sendoff and whatnot...I thought it was really fun, I didn find one thing that I'd fix

Traditionally, it is frowned upon to wildcat in the MSC as a sign of respect, but alot of people don't know that so I understand they didn't do it out of disrespect

just something I'd tell them next time (although there won't be a next time :/ )

  • Wow. Incredible. "A bunch of idiot nonregs" huh? Is that all you see? Are you really that arrogant? Because I see a bunch of future teachers, doctors, engineers, and scientists taking a break from studying to enjoy the building that we've called our living room for the last one to five years. Get over your self. And with all due respect sir, you're a jackass.

  • thats me crowd surfing at 5:19!

  • I feel that any former or fallen Aggie would have loved to participate. We've all had to deal with the stress of test, new buildings, and rennovations. If anything having it at the MSC was most appropriate, even the aggies who can't be with us anymore still got to participate in spirit...I think some are just jealous and are a little too synical. It was fun and we even ended it in the War Hyme. I think it was an awesome way to send off the building and those who it represent.

  • This was awesome, I was there

  • Ya'll need to calm down, no one is wearing a hat every corp member who attended was in uniform and obviously we are not stepping on the grass. this was meant to be a CELEBRATION to send off the msc into renovation. relax there are alot bigger things to get your panties in a bunch about

  • Comment removed

  • ut oh...sounds like someone didn't put on his dancy pants this morning...

  • I would just like to point out that your commandant was there and did not see it fit to stop it, and that the administration charged with protecting the memorial did not see it fit to stop it, maybe you are being a little overcritical of an event made to release stress and say goodbye to the MSC. There have been dance parties and concerts in the MSC flag room before. I don't see why this one is any worse than the others.

  • Are you from footloose?? Take it easy asshole, this was just fun.

  • stop being such a douche and have some fun

  • I couldn't agree more sir, and I'm sorry that my fellow students thought it appropriate to desecrate this memorial.

  • There's a reason that the Muster exhibit is here every year. Again, I don't want to limit your fun, but I seriously think y'all should find another place to do this.

  • Don't even bring up Muster. No one in that Flag Room today was disrespecting Muster. No one.

Ya know, I've also seen exhibits set up by camps, sororities and study abroad companies in the Flag Room; I've seen dance clubs and musicians perform as well. Do you throw fits when that happens too? I mean, I've seen some booty dancing in the Flag Room before. You better write a letter to Murano quick kid.

  • Thats Badass!

  • i gave myself 5 minutes to finish lunch. I walked over to the flagroom and it was already over. sounded fun though!!

  • Why did that happen? Just for the heck of it?

  • Holy crap, At 4:40 thats me in the bright red shirt crowdsurfing. And in the rest of the video I'm right in front. That was so fun. We gotta do it again somewhere else.

  • Wish I coulda been cuz that was pretty epic.

  • I don't get it. What was the rave about?

  • That was the most amazing 15 minutes ever!

  • Thats me at 1:55 with the blue shorts on!

  • EPIC!

  • Totally me crowd surfing 3:50 in the green shirt! It was freaking awesome!

  • I think I held your hand to push you back up...

  • I WAS THERE! dang i feel like such a part of history. :]

  • Remember, anything done twice is a tradition, so lets do it again and get it started!

  • This is super sweet!

  • Good this one is complete =D

  • that would be freaking cool if it became a tradition

  • THIS WAS SO AWESOME!!!!! This in itself should become a tradition! :)

  • We have to do it again! Then it really is a tradition! So, see you guys tomorrow?
