@BMRRacer13 couldn't tell you unless their website has been updated with that info. i thought i would run into problems with the type r's, but they fit obviously so you have at least that much room to work with.
@akonechniu good lookin, ima have to get that fixed....I was going to reinstall the gate and have them cut out a hole....I figured the top of the gate ran the water away....it comes in on the sides....so f'n irritating....ima record my slap for other avalanche lovers to enjoy. Thanks for the info.
@MR123sk14 i'm sure you could do that. we just decided to wire and screw the subs down before, mostly due to how heavy the type-r subs are. we didn't feel like holding them upright and screwing them down inside the truck.
@MR123sk14 yeah it wasn't bad if you have some help. thing is heavy as hell with the subs in and it is just big and awkward so it was kind of hard to line the screw plates up. otherwise it's really straightforward.
hey i bought one of thoses boxes(sealed for two 12's) some guy out of california. way beter price than to buy one from JL. i changed it up since and now i want to sell it.
hey , I have an 07 chevy avalanche and i installed 2 10" rockford fosgate P3's under the back seats. I wanted to install bigger subs but i wasnt too sure if it was possible to instal behind the seats but after seeing your vid i know its possible lol. And im not really happy with my subs because theyre not that loud and im looking to trash my system and buy one like yours. If i can get some info about how much the box and the subs and batteries and installation, etc. all costed. Thx.
i just want to do this shit right cuz in all honesty this is my very first BRAND NEW car and i don`t want to go and put the huge box in the truck bed also cuz WTF its in the truck bed thats just retarded. any feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated. THANKS
@whoa305 no the rear glass doesn't rattle, hardly anything rattles really. the camera was sitting on hard plastic in the video which makes up for most the rattle. truck bed covers don't shake, everything is sealed off (just like oem midgate) so that all sound is inside the cabin. and the space issue depends on if you use your bed. my brother doesn't so it was a no brainer. you really don't loose that much room plus you can still lay the midgate down. I recommend this box if it is used right
sup man. i just recently jumped into a 2010 LT and have seen these boxes also some they have at bestbuy that go under the rear bench seat. Id like to ask you Does the glass window shake or rattle? im scared it may break if do this. also does the truck bed covers shake? and in all honesty does this box quad good. I have a huge box for 2 12'`s old school pioneer impps from my old suv and ive out quaded many better rated systems cuz of the huge box space.
hey i have the sealed version of the that box (or should say had in my EXT) still have it but i upgraded from two 12"s to three 12"s, that box was pretty awsome cause it was pretty much a replica of the JL box version for a fraction of the cost and i mean it when i say FRACTION. having the mid gate operational was also a plus.
the whole midgate still folds in, only difference is the box surrounding the subs is attached to the back. and obviously the rear window glass holder is gone.
@mrrobert23 box is listed on their website, subs you can find online too. we are going to replace the amp soon with a higher quality one. 4 gauge wiring all around. that's it.
could be tuned a little bit lower but overall it is a very solid option if you don't want to lose any functionality of the av. my brother seems to like it even with the terrible amp we still have hooked up.
The hardest thing about the install is just how big, heavy, and awkward the box is. We installed the subs first with the box out of the truck and then when loading it in we ran into some problems with holes lining up but nothing we couldn't fix. Pretty happy with it since there aren't that many options out there for the AV as clean as this.
i just saw this box online thinking bout putting it in my 20 AV. how hard whas is to install? and would u recomend it? btw, the speakers on my comp r dissconnected so i cant hear them... -.-
how much did that midgate cost?

@littlechrist1 yes the seats fold back up and snap back in. this is a direct replacement piece that works exactly like the factory midgate.

@akonechniu is any water gettin in when it rains? I ran into that problem when I snatched that gate out.
herwoo12 9 months ago
@herwoo12 nope. its completely sealed, but it could happen if you don't get everything lined up right when installing.

haha yeah its looks heavy.. expecelly with 2 12' l7s.. but those 4 wires are going to the amp right? and is there any wires in the bed of the truck?
MR123sk14 1 year ago
@MR123sk14 correct. no wires in the bed of the truck. it is completely sealed off.
