@Aloeus595 in my opinion minas tirith is probably the best sword and bow style citadel ever conceived as an idea by mankind. its got everything, high thick walls, hundreds of catapults, thousands of archers and vantage points for them,lots o strong gates its got choke points for invading infantry its multilevelled with stairs and wears down the enemy, too right did mordor need 500,000 orcs (or whatever the amount was) i swear there was only about 10,000 humans fighting. that citadel is the shit!

Today I won a siege battle against someone in the Heir of Carthage clan, just before I saw your vid. I will upload it on my youtube commentary channel btw.

I have tried that myself in a battle (stand outside the wall and fire over with bow's range).

I faced gun infantry on the wall so I did outrange him, but with the walls being on different heights like 99% of the arrows hit the roof they are standing under. I did not know if it works but i tried then to use fire with all my archers to burn of the damn roof. (it did no dmg at all). How can you counter that? Can't just keep shooting without killing anything. Will run out of arrows.

if the attacker only had charged the walls instead of choke points and used his archer to shot inf behind the walls not that one in the cover he would have won..even with his bad macro :-)

NoDachi are bad for sieges. They got no armor and they cost a lot because of their charge bonus which u cannot use in a siege battle.

one more reason Matchlock units are great: Naginata samurai is heavily armored and barely lose any men to arrows. Matchlock units will slaughter any units no matter how armored they are. Much more effective than arrows if your opponent goes quality over quantity. Just don't use them to skirmish and you'll be good :P
