@camarorswright IMO there is nothing wrong with mustangs and how they're built. the bullitt i currently have is being driven like i stole it and it's never once given me a problem, neither did the previous one i owned. there's nothing special about SS's, the current ones run 4.6 0-60 with 400+ HP while my bullitt is right there at 4.9 with only 315. it seems that chevy is the one lacking and the current 5.0 just shits alll over the SS. Z28 or not, wait till the 5.0 can handle boost

Love Ford but geez these modded GT 500's are bugging me. Is the car not quick enough or something? The stock ones you can find seem to lose a lot on here. The modded ones win and lose. Mostly though against stock competition or against cars the stock stang should beat easily. Glad to see you went up against a slightly modded Vette. :)

well just to be fair ..i just happen to have laying around an SC z06 900+hp with 1100+hp option moded vs moded ! if that stang is interstead lol btw the z will race above 140 cause it cant get grip below that speed. but im still doubt that stang can beat properly drivin Z06

that mustang wasnt even over 550 rwhp man ... we do know the ZO6 flies and we do have modded zo6's in our group too. that mustang will never say no to a race but its not worth getting your car ready knowing that you will win for sure. I say just wait few months and we won't say not to your race. Just remember .. no bottle stuff.

@tungstenizerGT so true man. Just watch any bracket racing. You will see that a 13.5 car gets spotted verry little on a 12.8 car. I mean it looks like the 12.8 car would eat up the slower car with the quickness but it takes the whole strip to recover (in my instance) to make up for that half car advantage. My 13.5 took out a 405hp Z06 but he nearly caught me at the end. So, if a guy takes off .5 before you it's gonna look like that car cleaned your clock if they are anywhere close time wise.

Pulley adds 75rwhp on a GT500? So you're telling me that a bone stock GT500 with a pulley will go from 440rwhp to 515rwhp with JUST that mod? I highly doubt that. Yes, Ford's S/C'd motors are very restricted and underrated. But an 03-04 Cobra with a pulley, intake, exhaust, and a tune will put down usually 440-460rwhp, and from the factory they put down anywhere from 360-380rwhp, depending on what kind of tune goes into it.

yes...there are gt500's getting over 500rwhp with cai/tune. I'm on a very mild 91octane tune and with pulley/cai I dynoed 524rwhp after driving an hour on the highway and maybe 10 minute cool down before dyno. Easy to mod, but very heavy. 4,100lbs w/ me in it. Still have stock exhaust manifolds & stock catted x-pipe. Very strong motors, but again HEAVY.

well look at the displacement your comparing...a tiny 4.6 to a larger 5.4...at the same boost pressures the 5.4 will outperform the 4.6 just because of the extra cubes...that said a full bolt-on cobra is probobly on par with an identical bolt-on GT500 cuz its at least 300lbs heavier....3600lb cobra v. almost 4000lb GT500

yea the gt my have won but it was supercharged and other stuff done and the z06 is bone stock but the z06 still kept up so not bad for the z06 and i think the driver was late on the z06 because i see races where the z06 won now race the zr1 and see who wins i am not a ford hater at all i love all kinds of american muscle cars
