I have come to the understanding that there are 4 ports in the back. 1 goes straight to impeller flow indicator. The three that are left I know you pick one for output (does it matter which one?)
Also, did the Res come with plugs to plug up the remaining holes? Or did you have to purchase your own plugs.
am i the only one who see's something potentially wrong with putting water with pricey electronics? just strikes me as a bad idea in case a hose came loose of something.
There is indeed an element of risk, and things do go wrong. Providing you keep regular maintenance and good quality components, it should all be fine.
Regular maintenance being draining the coolant, cleaning out each component and putting in new coolant every year; and replacing the entire system after a few years (If you've had a loop running for years, maintained well, the components will have worn down and become less effective at their job. Possibly even to the extent leaks could occur.)
