Yeah, each new album was quite different from the previous one, so that would make any non recent album "old". In that sense there is no point distinguishing between old and new In Flames.
Except anything after Clayman is a cheap grasp at appealing to a wider audience, which in itself isn't inherently bad but the music they produced to achieve it is something I hate. Much more so because their older material was so fucking great and hinted at a much greater future in the melodic metal genre. It's just disappointing.

Their first album had this dark sensation interwoven throughout it, every album after lunar strain had less and less of this. Their first album had this dark sensation interwoven throughout it, every album after lunar strain had less and less of this. They are still the same band, but I think they have all but lost their original sound, as most bands tend to do.

Kalmah is real MDM(at least to me) cause all their albums are kick ass and dont just have a couple of good ones like In flames.
