  • Written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong in 1966, the single was first recorded by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles

  • ME ENCANTAN , ME ENCANTAN ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Good

  • The CCR version on Cosmo's factory is the ultimate "bedroom" music

  • oi 8 track rocks sounds better than most cds lol

  • I like the Marvin version best, then this version. I don't give a diddly squat who sang it first. Didn't care that much for Gladys' version. But then again-didn't care that much about Gladys anyway.

  • John Fogerty's a Demi-God......Damn that was good.....just imagine if it was good audio.

  • I prefer the Marvin GAye version since he wrote it, but I do like Creedence, well done to them

  • yéééééééééééééééééééé

  • doesn't anyone have a memory? Marvin Gaye sang this sone first. Then Gladys Knight and the Pips, then Credance . Yes, that is a fact!

  • This monumental beast was written for Smokey Robinson and the MIracles, also sang by Gladys Kight and the Pips, CCR and Marvin Gaye. In that order.

  • nope, Smokey robinson & the miracles were the first ones to record this song, marvin was the fifth or something,

  • great!!!!

  • It IS rock,baby!!!

  • This song will forever remind me of the California raisins !!!

  • Yeah the first version I heard was from Gaye. But I like this version very much!

  • cool cool cool )))

  • this song is another one that we drank and sang to down in Zeilinski's basement on Friday nights when his parents were out bowling. We'd get all liquered up and then head out to find some mischeif.

  • This Is Marvin Gaye junior

  • but thats the bad version, but you just have shitty quality audio on this vid

  • Of course 'heard it through the grapevine' is best known to us as the Motown song, recorded by Gladys Knight & the Pips in 1967 and by Marvin Gaye in 1968.

  • This uploader hasn't heard about cosmos factory. well, i have the album my self. This version is just ANNOYING !

  • wow, the audio quality is total crap!!! Rip this off a 8 track or cassette?

  • he probably recorded the voice

  • It's hella lo-fi and I love it like that. It's almost better this way.

  • @yim11

be quiet boy, if you really liked this song and band, the quality doesn't matter, the music does. sit down, stay seated, and enjoy the song.

  • @yim11 It's authentic ;)

  • @yim11 Wow your personality is sort of total crap!!! Born a complaning git or did you have to work on it?

  • @yim11 sounds like 8-track...

  • @yim11 LMAO!!!!!!

  • As chezsunset said, Strong wrote it based on a personal experience & Whitfield did all the various arrangements. Smokey Robinson recorded it 1st, then Marvin (or rumor says Isley Brothers, but no song has surfaced), but neither version was initially released. Next came Gladys Knight, who's version was released & hit #1 on the R & B chart. Marvin's version is the most famous b/c it crossed over onto the top 40 pop charts, but it doesn't belong to him anymore than to anyone else who recorded it.

  • not much would you be mine!!!!!!!!!

  • missing a word ain't ya?

  • @garin4x4 well I am pretty shure it was originally from gladys knight and the pips.

  • @garin4x4 its Smokey Robinson and the Miracles

  • @garin4x4 im pretty SURE you cant spell

  • @garin4x4 originally done by gladys knight and the pips marvin covered it.

  • @garin4x4 nope, actually Smokey Robinson & the Miracles recorded it first, then Gladys Knight & the Pips and then came Marvin's version

  • It was written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong and recorded by a number of different Motown artists with Marvin's being the 3rd or 4th version and by far the most famous.

When CCR covered it, Fogerty added a FANTASTIC guitar solo!! Search for the long version [10+ minutes]...it is on youtube.
