I can't wait till all women are required to wear skin tight jump suits and never appear in public unless you are looking your absolute best. Go to 0:23 to see perfect example.
Something always bugged me about that shot of Voyager at 1:26. That starship is supposed to house an entire crew, but it's hardly bigger than a shuttlecraft for four people.
I got to meet Marina Sirtis and Gates McFadden at a science Fiction convention. Both were incredibly nice, got my picture made with them. They lacked the studio make-up, though. Didn't have much effect on Marina with her dark Greek features, but it had a dramatic effect on Gates. Bless her heart, I hardly recognized her. Showed me what make-up can do for an actress( or Actor). Marina has natural beauty.
Love this song, love 'Star Trek' - love this vid! Saw you've got everything from TNG to 'Enterprise' here! Dunno if Sarah Brightman ever saw this as a girl-on-girl track, but it works well as one!
nice but why did you have to show clips form that fucking new movie franschise.....I am boycotting this now and everything involving that shit abrams peice of dog crap on the side of the road dirty hollywood no longer paramount money.
And how many chicks, birds or women were there mainly for eye candy ?
And whilst were on that subject Jane (i've lost my way again) Away was the worst captain of all. There were far better female roles even in the male chauvinist world of Star Trek!
why wouldn't everyone in the future be hot? with another +368 years of medical and genetic science, what's good and what's not would be clear. didn't they remove the 4000+ genetic diseases from humanity in the star trek universe?
They can remove defects, disease, and leave you to achieve according to your potential. personally, I'd rather be augmented to the max.

Well done, this is a well put together video. One thing pissed me off though; the realisation that Star Trek producers are the biggest bunch of male chauvinist hypocrites around. They take any opportunity they can to throw in a bit of female on female action to satisfy their own lusts but when it comes to being balanced and ground-breaking by showing 2 guys together, they come up with ridiculously crappy excuses that they've maintained for decades now proving their total and complete cowardice!
@eugene1 Thanks for watching. I see your point, but to be fair, there are a total of two f/f kisses across the whole of the Star Trek canon, which is hardly an abundance. (And in terms of gratuitousness, one of them I feel was respectful and well done). I definitely agree that Trek needs to show a much wider range of identities, orientations and relationships. My aim in making this vid was to demonstrate the broad variety of relationships that are possible once we let go of the m/f standard.
@llintrek I take your point about there being 2 kisses, but I was also referring to lesbian suggestiveness; like in The Naked Now with Tasha and Troi in Troi's quarters or Intendant Kira with Major Kira, in fact Indendant Kira with every female, Seven of Nine coming onto B'lanna Torres in Infinite Regress, Jadzia and Vanessa Williams' character on RIsa in DS9 and the list goes on. I'd call that abundant. But I'm glad we agree that Star Trek needs to expand it's sexual range and orientations.
@eugene1 Great, another sicko who likes to watch 2 males getting 'friendly'. If you like that sort of filth, then look at Torchwood. The Leftists in England laght their hinies off making the Dr Who watchers see one of the recurring charators getting disgusting with other men. He is the face of Boa.
@Hores8 I find homophobes and people who engage in crude name calling really annoying and the only way to describe such behaviour is 'childish'. I'm surprised that you could possibly be a fan of Star Trek given it's clear philosophy of Humanism throughout all the series that stresses respect for the freedom, equality and dignity of everyone. I hope life offers you a few fantastic opportunities to grow up, I truly do.
@demonicspire1 I never wrote that lesbianism is cowardice, let's get that straight. My point was the male writers and producers are totally cool showing lesbian suggestiveness whenever possible as it's likely a turn on for them. Yet after decades worth of episodes plus a great deal of campaigning by gay rights groups, there's yet to be a single example of homosexuality as it's likely a a turn off for them. Their inconsistency and imbalance is the source of their cowardice, NOT lesbianism!
@eugene1 Are you so sure that there have never been female writers on star trek? Do they have to put a gay man in there? Is that really what their audience wants, or consistent with their cannon? I suppose you are one of those people who think every show needs a token black character. I'm loving your tolerance for people who are different from you.
@demonicspire1 First up, I'm black & gay so it's probably best you don't make assumptions. Yes they do need to put a gay man in there; Star Trek Cannon states that Humanism rules in the 24th Century, thus does Equality. In a 1991 interview with The Humanist, Gene Roddenberry promised there'd be gay crew members appearing in TNG, but he died soon after & that promise was broken/ignored by Paramount Execs. Kate Mulgrew also asked the Exec Producers as she received many fan letters requesting it.
@mrjjking77 That's highly speculative and debatable. A VH1 show entitled 'Totally Gay' did a segment on the high numbers of straight women who were having viewing parties for 'Queer as Folk' because they were fascinated by two guys together. Also, I'm sure many people used similar reasoning about seeing an interracial kiss in the 1960s, yet Star Trek, staying true to its cannon went ahead with it anyway despite public objections of its day!
@eugene1 Well, if there as a VH1 show about it, then 'nuff said! Highly speculative and debatable...as was what you said, of course. It's unlikely anyone employed similar reasoning re: interracial kiss as if it was a widespread fantasy it wouldn't have been the least shocking. If it was. Not having been around then I wouldn't know what people actually thought of that. I've never heard of a Star Trek cannon - what deck was it mounted on?
@Nomoreidsleft well, you know, DS9 was culturally noted as historically 1st to openly show such interactions... &star trek franchise in general, was always big on breaking social norms, "expanding the human mind", etc.*; it is after all easier than done under the mantle of the sci fi & futurism...
@Nomoreidsleft Seriously mate.. I cudnt believe what I was watchin at first thought is it just me thinkin this... well it seems not lol, very good though..;)
