Blow off valves release the air pressure in the tubing right before the throttle body so you dont have a lean out and detonate. The thing you hear when he accelerates is the wastegate and the turbo its self spooling up, BOV's only activate after the throttle is released. Just thought i would throw that out there. :)

@Racetowin88 Actually, BOVs are for the prevention of compressor surge, not lean-out, since the butterfly valve is always closed (meaning no air through the intake) when the BOV is required.
