Now, I haven't watch TRL in a few years, but I remember when it started (like 9 out of 10 videos were Pop). Usually the top half were Britney, *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Christina, and maybe Eminem. When it first started it was awesome. Great videos, great artists that came on, Carson was great, but then as years went on, the videos seemed to get shorter. I remember watching and there wasn't a video on the countdown that lasted longer than 30 seconds. I think that's why people lost interest.

Really, I think it is Reality shows that are ruining things. Not all Reality shows, but when you have channels that were created for something specific they should stay that way. MTV was originally created to be a place 100% about music. Now what is it maybe 4 or 5 hours a day. That's 20%. You have shows like Real World, The Hills, My Super Sweet 16...what do these have to do with music? That is what I think should be changed. Bring back the music. Why don't they create RTV (Reality Television)?

I prefer the early days of TRL when Carson Daly was hosting it. I felt that he was the best host for this show. I also enjoyed the other DJs and other shows that were on during that time. Watching this just goes to show you how much MTV has really changed over the years. I don't watch MTV anymore.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Music has been in decline since the early 90's. Just put spikey haired, just went to the thrift store, guitar with fuzz turned up to 11 on tv, or..peeps who can't play a musical instrument but sure can spit lyrics you can't understand live, that's why there has not been a great "live" rap cd out yet and don't even get me started on the Hannah Montanas that are out there as if we'll be listening to them 20 years from now.
