  • I visited Johns grave today on the 31th anniversary of his death. I've been once before but felt the need to go today. I found it a lot easier to find second time round cus it aint the easiest of places to find. The church was open so sat in for a quiet moment an left a message in the visitors book. Beautiful part of the English countryside. People please visit.

  • Just came back from visiting Bonzo's grave, nightmare place to find but well worth it. Been meaning to go for ages, took my 12 yr old son hes a big Zep fan. If you're a fan i promise you, you wont be dissapointed, you can tell loads of people visit. It feels really weird standing at his graveside not really believing he's gone cus his music still lives on. Still blast my stereo with their music today. Sounds better today with all the rubbish out there now.

  • I went there to pay my tribute on what would have been his 60th birthday.

It felt so strange, but as my feet trod the churchyard's grass, and I went round the corner of the church and saw his grave (IN REALITY, NOT IN A PICTURE), it was like I fully realized for the first time that he had died. It was like he died in that precise moment. And I couldn't help crying.

  • Its better you leave something there and someone takes it and treasures it than to be put in the bin when there is to much

  • you have no idea of what i had to do to get to rushock and find the grave stone theres no signage nothing and it was not easy it was not on google earth like it is now

  • I want to go there and leave the best pair of drumsticks I have. We miss you Mr Bonzo.

  • I cry everytime I see his gravestone. He inspired me from beyond the grave, and I know that if it wasn't for John Bonham, I would never have picked up a set of drumsticks. We have so much to thank you for, John, but we never got the chance. But your legend and your passion for drumming lives on through millions that you inspired..

  • 30 years ago today the worlds best drummer died from the worlds greatest band John Bonham was a good man a true legend his drumming has and always will stand the test of time he left a legacy RIP John Henry Bonham 5-31-48 to 9-25-80 God Bless you and your talent, your what makes the music sound great The Drums

  • 30 yrs ago today rip john and thanks

  • RIP Bonzo. Can't think of a band where everyone was of equal talent and awesomeness.

  • i can

    the stranglers

  • There's the Houses of the Holy and In Through the Out Door albums on the grave

  • the dog could have been a sign of john!

  • R.I.P. john bonham greatest drummer to ever beat the skins to bad ill never see him live im sure that these you tube vids dont do him justice

  • R.I.P Bonzo.

  • R.I.P Bonham. Great man, great drummer, great inspiration

  • how strange the black dog showing up! probably a sign from Bonzo.

  • so mote it be

  • lucy ass MoFo

  • R.I.P

  • whoa that black dog is very weird and ironic. what a strange coincidence. wouldnt you agree?

  • wt does a black dog represent??

  • The Zep song, could it be the same dog that showed at Headley Grange!?!?! lol j/k R.I.P BONZO hope to meet you one day.

  • black dog was the name of one of their songs

  • thats bonzo the cartoon dog that made the name of bonham

  • how ironic is that with the black dog?

  • Bonham was in serious need of an intervention. Is it possible that those closest to him, his family and band mates, failed him in someway. The same is true for Elvis.

  • R.I.P. Bonzo...

  • yes it is.

  • he was cremated wasnt he?

  • why does a drummer god have a simple grave he sould have a better 1 but oh well may he rest in peace

  • I think it suits him. Bu all accounts he was very down to earth despite being a rock star. I don't think he would have wanted a big gaudy grave. It's perfect.

  • yeah his bandmates and others referred to him as a kid in rock and roll in terms of personality, he loved his home and family more than anything.

  • The walk around seems like TSRTS, Jimmy Page's glowing eyes.

  • I KNOW

  • R.I.P= Rock In Paridise

    John Henry Bonham AKA Bonzo

If only you were still alive...

  • i have more if you like i will post them

  • @fredgirling go to keith moons grave

  • @c3po402 Keith was cremated; no pics of a grave that I could find.

  • Look at all of those drumsticks. Best drummer ever R.I.P

  • I visit Johns grave quite regular, and i have left lots of bits and pieces but some sad people keep stealing things. I wrote on two bottles of vodka which were left by some one from australia. (not graffitti) I wrote a message to my all time biggest hero and my main inflence as a drummer. I will be posting some vids of me playing soon so keep watching for Bonhamesque. Cheers, Jay U.K.

  • Jay as in Jason Bonham????

  • you lucky little s.o.b

  • Lol, i also took that guardian article with me and showed the farmer. I was like 'Weve cracked the case of the mysterious black dog!'. Good times....

  • i travelled from australia to get to rushock it was worth it i will do it again the dog added to the atmosphere it was so quiet there was just me and my cousin who comes from kent and the dog. do you know if bonzo's ashes are there nobody seems to know for sure.

  • I'd imagine that his ashes are there, his daughter Zoe and wife Pat wrote in the book in the church a few years back and i wouldnt imagine they would visit the church if his ashes wernt there. I always thought he was buried there until we actually went, i would like to make the trip again someday myself, maybe next september...

  • Yes i did, if i remember correctly the dogs name is Enzo, it belongs to Mr Jennings, the farmer who lives at the back of the church. He let us camp out in one of his fields, it was a cool weekend!

  • do you think the farmer new the significance of a black dog to zepp fans it's freaked a few people out some guy from the guardian went there to take a photo and the dog spooked him i have the photo he took i posted some of my photos on a zepp site and and it really got them going.

  • Thats my houses of the holy cd on Johns grave. I myself made the pilgrimage in september. Did you go in Chequers, Johns local?

  • no i did not go to the pub it took all my time to travel from kent find rushock and get back in one day next time i will stay for a while and look around fo a few of there hangouts yes i pick up the cd's and had a look that little truck's been there a long time did you meet the black dog it came from nowwhere and stayed awhile it was great.
