  • Thats a great song anyone know what key they are pickin out of?

  • @1994liberty sounds like the key of 'C' to me!

  • This song is amazing.I just soo love it...:D

  • I love this song, and THIS IS THE BEST VERSION I HAVE HEARD!!! WOW!! Do they have a album out with this song on it? I've never heard of these guys. Great job!!!

  • Beautifully done! Thanks for reminding me of Lonnie Donegan! This was the sound we heard before the Beatles- It was the people's music in my teen years.

  • Jesse James never died.

  • @amusingg HE NEVER DIED!!!!!!!!

  • it's 2 children, not 3...

  • Hey man...check out Pete 'Kiwi's version. New CD of skiffle favourites inc this song featured in web site. Just type in Pete 'Kiwi' Keegan into google. keep strummin!

  • I find it hilarious how thousands of people claim to be a distant cousin of jesse james, well i'm related to "alexander the great" how you like them apples !!

  • Great job guys! absolutely loved it. Your version is the best that I have heard. Much better than the original.

  • mdr

  • @arnaquesetprejuges

    mdr ur fuckin mum

  • Good band and version; good vocals and acoustic sound.

There's a lot more to Jesse, that son of the aul sod, than just an outlaw.

  • I gotta video on here of a one man band doin this song it's pretty sweet. It's under my username brewtality213. Check it out.

  • Cowboy

  • I'm somehow a distant cousing, but don't know how. My grandmother remembered her father visiting Frank James in jail when she was a young girl. He was awaiting one of several trials. Probably bandits and outlaws; but neither Frank nor Jesse was ever convicted in court. Frank was found "not guilty" 2 or 3 times by a jury of his peers.

Strange times in the aftermath of the Civil War.

  • Im related to Jesse james. Hes my grandpas 5th cousin.

  • For more about Jesse's background and youth, google Quantrill's Raiders and Bloody Bill Anderson. A fascinating and controversial read about American history at the end of the Civil War.

  • nobodys innocent

  • Actually I do take back he should have got stomped in his grave.

If it been done today against Obama and the corrupt government we got today Jesse would have been right. Long as he spared the citizens.

Our rights are being taken away today, and we're taking them back.

  • Hey dumb fucks a DNA test proves my 3rd great grandmother was his first cousin so shut the fuck up bitches you did not live back then so how do you know what he actually did. It was easier to say Jesse did shit than find the shit head that actually did.

  • I been to Jesse's Grave

I know he protected the people from the bankers and the government

Hated he killed innocent people. (It's war)

But other than that He goes down as a hero.

    Sorry for your loss

We can only fight against tyranny

    Join us.

  • bob ford my hero

  • Has anybody heard the rumor that Jesse James was buried in Granbury, Texas? I've been doing some research but I keep finding inconclusive results.

  • He's buried in Kearney, Missouri. I been to his grave, and stomped him down some more.

  • Only reason I stomped on his grave, as he killed innocent people.

    Bankers don't count.

Fight the bankers as we have to do.

    Never kill an innocent person.

    And that 99% of us

  • great song i love it!! anyone ever heard the version by Michael Martin Murphy?? its great thats how i heard about this song. if you know where to find it write me.

  • great song! very folksy. Love the old instruments used.

  • Good folk song.

  • Awesome!

  • robert ford was a lad, who'd shoot ya in the back, he wanted to be jesse james, but this dude was fool, this nigga was uncool, he was full of embarrassment and shame, bobby had no wife, to lay beside at night, no children, a virgin, for heavens sake, i bet if jesse woulda saw, robert fixin to draw, i bet he woulda laid THAT nigga in his grave

  • What instrument is he playing circa 2:34 - 2:39? Looks a little like an autoharp...

  • Jan,

    He's playing the Washboard.

I want one of those myself, plus an old moonshine jug.

I can play both, plus the spoons, as we did with Packway Handle Band 2 years ago.

I just need to know the other half of the hambone. I can do the knee slappin part.

Huckabee should have us on his show.

  • Thanks, Phil. Yeah, I can see it now. I guess that's part of how they get the skiffle sound. That and that awesome bass. Those were great shots of the bass in this vid, don't you think. And hey, count me in on kazoo if you ever put that jug band together. :o)

  • Jan

I'm watching this again cause one reason, I'm pissed off, because of the bullshit stories (probably true but why do we need to hear this bullshit of the infidelities)

Re: Govs. Sanford, Switzer, Sen. Craig and Ensigine (SP)

    and the rest.

I don't give a shit of any of this but we're obliterated with non stop coverage.

One solution to it all, a bullet to the head of the guilty parties.

    Am I wrong?

  • sure it's a washboard !!don't forget it's a skiffle music band.....;see a lot of exemples on you tube.

  • does he usualy smoke so much wall-to-wall carpet early in the morning ????=) blobloblo yo hi hi hi hi .I 'm serious now :beautiful song and good band.

  • put the right answer at the right place.....

  • Jesse had two children, not three!

  • three , ....................in the song.......

  • I know where Jesse James is buried. Kearney, Missouri. Been there.

The politicians today in Washington DC, including Obama and the Congress

makes Jesse James look like a saint.

13 trillion dollars in debt. Hell that much cash don't even exist.

Ever seen 1 trillion dollars laid out in 1 dollar bills end to end.

It would go from Earth to 2/3rds way to the Sun

    This is staggering.

Time we rise up and fight back and take our money back.

    And we are.

  • We are in a war of attrition, Ive never been one for laws besides the laws of god and my steel. Provided a soldiery and arms we have a chance. Take it before they bury us all I spit on robert ford and may his family all taste lead in thier guts. CSA forever the war has never ended

  • Excellent! Cheri

  • COOL!

i got to know this band

THANKs to the movie "the assasination of..."

    men i forgot...

    anyway!

    cool music!

  • a few things about this band on you tube! I like their way of singing. not seen the movie yet but soon....

  • I'm not sure is this is the title of the movie: The Assasination Jesse James. Hope you watch the movie.

  • thank's!! I know this is'nt the movie's tittle. next movie I buy.... then comments to read soon . best regards.

  • gutes lied aber dass von tim kettle ist genau so gut

    5☆☆☆

  • lol, about other comments... what matters is the legend, not the nitpicking... everyone does right and wrong in their lives, but some people do something in a particular way that makes people feel somethin' inside... we all hope we can be jesse... jesse was one of those boys, for better or worse. long live jesse james! and i beautiful rendition, slightly different from the original as ive heard it, but very well done... lets hope you live up to jesse's legend ;)

  • i like the rendition Harold. not sure you ever see the messages on youtube but. i am more than happy to guest with you in Nashville 2010. hope you got my e-mail ok. great job

  • ***Really Great rendition***

, Thank you so much. A Big treat here in NYC.

  • So what you're basically saying is that you hope they write a song about the next guy who robs you or murders a family member?

  • Hail Jesse James! Hail old England! A Confederate Flag would sure look good hanging up along with your Union Jack where you fellas play, if you ever need one look up Town Square America and order one up from me for cheap! Good job guys.

  • you guys are tight i enjoyed you rendition very much- very talented

  • I love that song ;D

  • The best song ever.Jesse is my hero!!!

  • The blood of Jesse Woodson James runs in my veins and i can promise you that everyman he shot had a gun and saw it coming so deal with it. Besides the past is the past half of the crimes he was accused of was because it was easier to blame him than to find the ones who really did it. When a gunfight caused a sheriff's bullet to hit a little girl it was Jesse not the sheriff that paid her medical bills. So Jesse was more of a man than any man today.

  • jwj1882 that's a ridiculous argument, you know nothing about James and his gang if you truly believe that. Nicholas Gustavson was an immigrant who was killed at the northfield bank robbery, the guy couldn't speak english and didn't know what as going on, thought it was a town celebration. Did he know what was happening? George Wymore was shot standing in Liberty in front of a hotel. Did he see his death coming? And if Jesse never started that fight, that girl would've never been shot.

  • They got shot up pretty well in Nothfield--serves them right.

  • their deaths serves them right for defending themselves? I think you would think different if you had been one of them. I like how you never answered my statement, that's because there's no way to defend jesse's actions.

  • First... very entertaining video. Thanks!

But to jwj1882... please, do you think anyone is impressed that you claim to be a descendent of Jesse James? You and a hundred thousand other people have his "blood running through them". The man grandfathered an amazing number of people considering he only had 2 kids. Besides, he was just a cold-hearted mass murderer who society has turned into some great legend. He was no Robin Hood.

  • @jwj1882 ahhh im related to him too, sup cousin :D

  • @lovetotubeit well i'am related too bob ford

  • @snipper8108 lol yea so are like 5 million other people are on here to.

  • Come on, he killed a lot of people. He wasn't Hitler, but he was just an outlaw with a lot of blood on his hands. And all this talk of giving money to the poor is false, he only enriched himself.

Furthermore, his method of operation was often to shoot folks in the back, thus "Don't let him ride behind you."

  • @dedougman you are right ,if the poor had money he would have robbed them too

  • @snipper8108 yeah but then they would not be poor

  • @jwj1882 He shot an unarmed man from behind once I think.

  • lol this bands from north england

  • long live jesse

  • el tio ese era la ostiaaa

  • Jesse James is my hero!

  • Great song!

  • play them blues now hyeah boy...

  • These guys did a great job, I like their version! No hyped up bs or noise like we see in so many american groups, just good straight music. And as many see it, the war between union and Confederacy isn't over - what is settled by force against the will of a people is not settled at all. I'd like to see it get truly settled. Ride Jesse, Ride, and Deo Vindice! Long Live the South!!!

  • I love the fact that this is most likely the way it would have been sung when Jesse was around. The sound of this song just works for the era it is about.

  • bueah, i had it on my english lesson ; D

  • Solid version of a great song...

  • two not three childrens............

    robert ford.

the assassination of jesse james by the coward robert ford

  • uh, i was quoting some lyrics from another song entitled The ballad of frank and jessie.

  • im a distant relative of jesse james

  • Great rendition of this great song. Love the picking.

  • I am a close reletive of him LOL

  • Very Well Done

  • The men Jesse James killed were unarmed and/or had their back to Jesse. Robert Ford simply did to Jesse what Jesse did to all his victims. Jesse was no hero; he did not give money to the deserving poor (unless you consider him and his gang of cut throats as deserving poor). Jesse was a psychopath, not a hero. Don't praise evil men; don't romanticize the dark side of humans !!!!

  • You're damn right. But as you see ... no answere to your comment just "bad thumbs". I never understood why people think that a murderer is a hero.

  • We weren't there were we? I mean, legend exaggerates everything, good or bad; he certainly wasn't an angel, but shooting someone in the back is a coward act, whoever does it. He was more a guy who stole the rich (the story comes from here) but for his own sake, that's for sure.

  • it was 2 children not 3

  • Just saw the movie, Casey Affleck and Brad Pitt were great in it.

  • do you have a web page ???

  • Great job guys!!! The best version I've heard.

  • awesome!

  • Brilliant.

  • Long live the legend of Jesse james, The souths proudest son!

  • South? He was from Kearney MO.

    That's practically Iowa.

Frank James, after he got out of prison, went home to live on the old farm. He gave tours until his death.

  • Yea the South! Do you think the south is everything below the equator? Jesse James faught for the south thats a fact why would you dispute that. There were plenty of men from MO. who faught the union.

  • Misoouri was part of the South as they were a save-owning state. The state voted to secede, except for the German enclave in St. Louis. A military campaign rode roughshod over the Kansas City area (including Kearney) and drove all the farmers out; after the war, railroads stole all the land they wanted. Jesse was a guerilla during and after the war.

  • Robert E. Lee? Stonewall Jackson?

  • Robert E. Lee is probaly the geatest Millitary General in American history.

  • nice song

  • wonderfull!

  • my name is Jesse James, very good sound. i am Brazilian

  • Fantastic skiffle sound

  • We could fill a thousand ditches with them Yankee sons of bitches...

  • uhh excuse me?? last time I heard we were all equal and one nation not the union and confederate states

  • that previous comment was directed to BeefSatan

  • uh...i was quoting another songs lyrics, the ballad of frank and jessie....and you're excused.

  • Coming to America in June this year 2008

  • jesse james is my grandfather

  • Awesome!

  • who's mr howard?

  • thomas howard was jesse james' alias, his primary fake name.

  • thanks

  • I had seen everything and the along came the Ramblin' Riversiders, Thank You

  • the dirty little coward that shoot Mr Howard great line great song very well done boys

  • like it. we used to sing this when i was a kid

  • Great, smooth and authentic
