  • Hey, it's me again. I solve the problem, the problem is the ip addres. Coz at the time i had 2 connection ( LAN and wireless ) and i was trying to use LAN's ip address ( you can replace the ip address with the computer name ( ect Ken, John ). Thank you for the post. If any one have the problem can contact me on frewero@gmail.com. I will do my best.

    God bless.

  • @frewerage hey sorry I did not respond, but I've been busy so .... But I'm glad you got it working.

  • @04am Hey but the thing is it lost the connection after a while (30mins or ). did you experience the same issue ? If so what's the solution ?

  • @frewerage Yes I have experienced the same thing, with a friend of mine, but I don't know what's wrong maybe it is the game or DOSbox which is unstable. The game is from 1997 so the multiplayer probably has a bug, but it is just something I'm guess.

  • Now from there, the problem starts,it give me these line:

IPXSERVER: Connect from 127.0.0.1 ( not my LAN IP, dosbox just gives it)

IPX: Connected to server. IPX address is 127:0:01:206:211.

I go to the other PC ( client ) and try to connect using these IP: 127.0.0.1 and 127:0:01:206:211 and my LAN IP.

None of them works. I play fine on single player, any idea ?

  • Hi again, i found a text file in game folder ( i bought the game from gog.com ). After follow it instruction ( i manage to get all the command works ) here is the command if any need: ipx=true ( regardless of your setting ) mount C "." OR mount C ".\..\" if your folder in "Constructor" as like mine "C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Constructor\DOSBOX" imgmount d "const.gog" -t iso -fs iso OR imgmount d "c:const.gog" -t iso -fs iso c: cls cd \ IPXNET STARTSERVER game.exe exit
  • Hi, thank you for the video. Could you please explain what do you mean by:" Z:\ drive and copy ipxnet.com to the C:\ drive "

I type "help" in dosbox and cant find any command to "drive". Can you help me with the command ? step by step would be great.

    Thank you.

  • If the the guest connects to the server, you did everything correctly, now open up Constructor and go to the network game menu, make a game and play.

By the way, I assume you have windows in some form, and know how to use dosbox. If not, pm me with your e-mail and what windows versions you use, and I can try to make a more accurate step by step-guide with pictures.

  • @04am Hi, i reply to this one so youtube can send you an email, and you might get back to me :)

  • I am sorry for asking you but:

A friend of mine and me are big constructor-fans and we want to play together, could you explain the steps you did to get the network game running?

  • I can try, first of all open up you dosbox config file, and find a line saying [ipx]. You should be able to see a line saying ipx=falsh, edit that to ipx=true. Now save the config file and open up dosbox, go to the Z:\ drive and copy ipxnet.com to the C:\ drive or the drive you have auto mounted as the drive where all your games and other dos stuff is. Okay, now you go to the C:\ drive again and type "ipxnet startserver" without quotation marks. Now this dosbox session is the ipx server.

  • Next, your friend opens up dosbox on his machine, and he also has to do the config file edits as you just did. But in the dosbox session on his machine you type "ipxnet connect xxx.xxx.xx.xxx" without quotation marks (the x's have to be replaced with the ip of the ipx server, to find this ip go to your start menu, then click on run, and in the pop-up window type "cmd" and hit enter, now you have a dos shell, and you now type "ipconfig" and a line saying ip-add should apear).
