400 fps, 700fps with .25g bb it aint gonna make that much of a difference... bare skin will get bloody anyway... good face mask (mouth protection is nessecary too) and decent clothes and gloves and you're going to be alright... thats why I'm not a huge fan of kids under 16 playing airsoft...

@phishnnnchips No, it wouldnt work. Sadly, you can only use this thing with gearboxes that have centered air nozzles. So V7, V6, and most of those special gearboxes like in the ares tavor are incompatible.

What you could to though, is install the piston, and leave the valve partially oben upon install. But you would do better if you just choose a lower spring level.

@RXillusionist How is this promoting cheating? The point of this product is to allow players to have flexibility for different fields in the most convenient way. Yes, this could be used to alter the muzzle velocity of your gun after it's been chrono'ed and tagged, but just because a retailer decides to carry this product doesn't mean they condone cheating. To say that ASGI is doing so by reviewing and carrying this product is just stuffing words down their throats.

This is not for promoting cheaters to play dirty. Take PTW for example, a cylinder-exchange takes like max 20 seconds if you're used to it.

@boostar If you're careful it wont be any problem. It's constructed to not scratch your barrel. Just keep the barrel of your gun vertical and then gently insert the tool.

i understand why there are fps regulations, but i think its kinda bs..

my friend has a custom pp19 looking gun (he made it) and in it he installed a motorized valve (sorta like this, but i think he bought it or is some sort of servo, idk what he did) but that thing can clock anything from 100 to 750ish depending on how open his valve is..and in all honesty a 750fps cqb hurts like a 300 (i know it doesnt, but a geared up played has padding and adrenaline rushing through him/her)

Quick and easy but inconsistant fps perhaps due to the extra backpressure airflow going through the gearbox.

I think the best solution would be to make a modular spring compression gearbox that allows quick compression and decompression of the spring. Much like the ARES M4 or the G&G FN2000. Seeing as how you have to access the gearbox to install this piston head anyways.

Complete waste of time. It does not drop the fps in 40 fps increments, it has terrible consistency and you will scratch your barrel adjusting it. Oh and the piston has full metal teeth so if it goes, your gears get smashed as well. Its expensive as well. Utter rubbish. Come back in 12 months when this is further refined.

Another problem is, even setting the FPS lower, you are still pulling the spring back and pounding the piston at the same speed. Same wear & tear on the gearbox.

That and your RPS won't increase at all like if you downgraded your spring (I know it's not much of a difference). Systema PTW cylinder system is the best in my opinion but it's hard to drop over a grand on a gun.
