Thiller was the (pop) break in era. OTW was the last of the real funk, horn poppin', bass thumpin' solid backbeat drum tracks. Thriller only sold more because radio (pop) stations played it. Off the wall pretty much just got the black, real ( R&B) airplay and we were not big enough. The crossover bumped OTW but it was just as and or in my opinion better than thiller.

Thriller just Thriller,,,I mean you put on Thriller today and it sounds so MODERN, and the album was made in 82 but the Thriller songs were made way way head of time because they sound million times better than what pop artists are making today. Just listen the quality of Thriller the song..its mind blowing..amazing musicians played on that track and his voice just kills it!
