I've been on 75MG Amitriptyline (ELAVIL) for about a month and today I was prescribed 300MG Carbamazepine (Tegretol) by my therapist. I've heard three times now that they don't mix well. I guess time will tell.

Tegretol has effect on vitamin D utilisation and therefore calcium aborption into the bones - some people develop Osteoporosis and tooth decay . The malformities in babies may have something to do with this. People know about rickets. Babies can die from D deficiency. Some doctors recommend to take calcium with vitamin D. Vitamin D may be all that is necessary to encourage calcium uptake If you take calcium and vitamin D find a good product that also contains vitamin K and trace levels of boron
