I liked rayman 3! But I do think ly should have been in it, and rayman should NOT be with ly cause that just isn't right but I disagree with you, because I loved rayman 3, but ya I sure hope they make a rayman 4
i wouldn't want rayman and leah to have a romantic relationship because then the game would most likely revolve around rayman trying to save leah or possibly playing as leah trying to save rayman and that kind of game is so cliche' i'd like it to be something new like in rayman 1 where he had to break cages to save the electoons. that's just my oppinion though

If I were you I wouldn't go making such presumptuous statements as 'A true Rayman fan would say the 1st or 3rd are best'. You don't want Dark Lums? Don't you know how dangerous they can be? Rayman 2 said that Lums are the building blocks of life in the universe; and having a tainted version of them could bring great possibilities for a threat. Dark Lums are like the cancer of Rayman's would since they can spread and taint other Lums. Since Andre is a sentient Dark Lum that could (in theory) alter the structure of life in the series' universe, he can be a very dangerous threat.

You know, I think Rayman Origins looks pretty cool, The Livingstones are back, you can see a Teensie take Rayman and Globox's picture at one point in the trailer, Spikey Fruits are present, plus the fairy at the beginning does look a bit like Betilla, it's got a lot of throwbacks.

I actually loved Rayman 3 the best of the Rayman series. It was funny, but sorta epic moments on the same time :P I really hope there's going to be a real Rayman 4 game.

As far as my opinion about Rayman 3, I don't think I could be anymore nice than I was in this video. I didn't insult anyone, I didn't use foul language, and I gave calm rational reasons that question Rayman 3 as a valid installment in the series. Rayman 3 wasn't serious enough and it was more about the fighting and not the story. Not that i didn't liked the fighting. I even think the fighting is almost the best part of rayman, but there must be a good story with it. In rayman 3 everybody was kinda relaxed. I mean that globox was just walking around a bit and rayman didn't really seemed motivated. I think that that should be back too.

And the enemies are enemies with an steel armor and weapons from the medival. He can destroy them with the engergy balls that he gets temporary if he pick up a yellow lum. And if he charges his normal engergy ball he can destroy the armour or if he charge his fist fully. But the enemies are very powerfull some enemies kill him in 4 hits other in 3 other in 2 other in 1. But when Rayman is far away from them it is possible that he can shoot them down before they reach him.
I think it is good if the Real Rayman 4 is going to be this: At the start ly upgrades Rayman's fist power and give him the ability to fire more powerfull enegergy balls then from Rayman 2. And he can charge it by keep pressing circle. He can shoot his fist with square. And if he picks up a yellow lum his engergy ball power will be more powerfull. And he can pick up the powers from Rayman 3 but this time it is it an weapon with ammo. Per time he pick up that power he gets 10 ammo.
I only play sometimes Jak and Daxter the other games i own for the Ps2 i completed and some i almost completed but i don´t want to go further with it because Jak and Daxter is my newest game i only play that that less times i play games.
While I agree with some of your points about rayman 3, on it's own it is a VERY good action-platformer. in terms of fitting in with the rayman series, it didn't do that great a job.
I don't say 3 is the best but i also agree with more characters and if there would be chosen for 1 that it need to be ly.
Only sometimes or 1 or 2 times in the game there can be humor.
And why no black lums? But that ending from Rayman 3 that Rayman's hands are moving away when Rayman is sleeping and that they make the red lum scared and it begin over again is too bad.

If Ubisoft wishes to please those who were left empty-handed when they played through Rayman 3, then they need to stop throwing away the features of the preceding games as if they didn't exist and start USING THEM.

Right, exactly. The Rabbids games are now pretty much a franchise all on their own. I really hope this video garners enough attention so that those at Ubisoft leave Rayman 3 and the Raving Rabbids out of their plans.
For a game with a different atmosphere, it certainly would. However, Rayman 3's whole overall atmosphere is a departure from its roots, and the overall departure is what most old school fans complain about.
Sure, the music is good from the perspective of those who aren't attached to the theme of Rayman 1, 2, and the various remakes and spinoffs of those games. But that's not the point. The music is only one of several things that is found wanting when it comes to Rayman's original theme.
I think Rayman 4 should have some characters of the first Rayman like The Magician (in the learning games he was hilarious) or Mr. Dark and other bosses such Stone...also i think the worlds of the first Rayman were the most fantastic and the best worlds of all the Rayman games.

Mr Dark is not dead! He died in the GBA version but it isnt a canon. Also the of the bosses of Rayman 1 that is dead is Mr Stone...the others are alive (in the credits you can sees Space Mama or Skops). And the worlds of Rayman 1 are the most fantastic and imaginative worlds!They are the best!Also I think in put things of Rayman 1 cause they never appeared in the other games.
Right, the powers come from the teensies IN THE FORM OF ENERGY CANS FROM BAD GUYS. Even if they come from the teensies, they don't cup their hands and generate an energy sphere (a lum) and give it to Rayman like Ly did in Rayman 2 and Rayman Revolution. They're still getting their cans from the bad guys, and besides that, you get the cans from the bad guys ten times more often from the bad guys themselves than from the teensies.
No Rayman 3 was later then 2 i guess also later then Revolution. But they just got less original characters in 3 that is the reason and globox's kids you don't see then.
1. Mr. Dark or Razorbeard from the first games should return 'cus what happened to them? Rayman never finished them. Just like the black lum in Rayman 3, (but I don't want that on back)

Yeah, man, exactly what I was thinking. The reason Rayman 3 wasn't as good as the first two was probably due to the fact that Michael Ancel wasn't on the team. Rayman 4 should have the fairy world element, but with a dark edge to it. Also, original characters should definitely come back. I'd especially like to see Mr. Skops, Mr. Dark, Razorbeard, the one-eyed guy, and maybe the magician.
i like rayman 3 alot and rayman 2 had some cool things like magic and everything but the game was way to easy there where a small amount of secrets. so give rayman 4 secrets magic (ly) and those cans (i just like them) but instead of lockjaw just a powerball to grab a ring and make fists powerballs again thats what i want in rayman 4

Admittedly, it did make me laugh a little. But it was more of a "Come on, please..." kind of reaction. I look at Rayman 1 and 2, and I want to go, "Ooh... Wow... Neat!"

Its not that bad! It has its moments, it is funny (especially murphy), and rayman seems like more of a fun guy, a guy you could hang out with.

I don´t remember which beast in Rayman´s shirt it was in that video but that hoodlum turned it in a RayBallerina you can say. Maybe it was more creative, but again, I found it irritating to always have to use the lateral punch. My brother thinks so too. And there were lots of enemies in Rayman 2.
Are you kidding there like 5 robo pirates per stage and the catterpillars took one hit to beat and you fought them one at a time.Were as in rayman 3 you fight them in groups.
Pirates, Caterpillars, Zombie Chickens, big and small spiders, eyeballs, monsters from the cave of bad dreams, pirate ships, guardians, and so on and so forth. You can't deny that Rayman 2 has a decent share of enemies.
And by the way, you usually had to fight those enemies in groups. Usually not the pirates, but just about everything else.
Well, duh, of course no rabbids. The rabbids series is a spin-off, not... How shall I say it? It's not canonical.

@supermancrashin The fanbase I'm speaking for consists of those who like Rayman for what it was. I am a true fan, but of RAYMAN, not the garbage games that just happen to have Rayman in them. Rayman 1 and 2 were great, M/Arena not so much, but Rayman 3 and hoodlums revenge are just not what made Rayman truly great. I'd argue that if the series began the way it is now, it wouldn't have been nearly as popular.

As far as my opinion about Rayman 3, I don't think I could be anymore nice than I was in this video. Rayman 3 wasn't serious enough and it was more about the fighting and not the story. Not that i didn't liked the fighting. I even think the fighting is almost the best part of rayman, but there must be a good story with it. In rayman 3 everybody was kinda relaxed. I mean that globox was just walking around a bit and rayman didn't really seemed motivated. I think that that should be back too.

And the enemies are enemies with an steel armor and weapons from the medival. He can destroy them with the engergy balls that he gets temporary if he pick up a yellow lum. And if he charges his normal engergy ball he can destroy the armour or if he charge his fist fully. But the enemies are very powerfull some enemies kill him in 4 hits other in 3 other in 2 other in 1. But when Rayman is far away from them it is possible that he can shoot them down before they reach him.

I think it is good if the Real Rayman 4 is going to be this: At the start ly upgrades Rayman's fist power and give him the ability to fire more powerfull enegergy balls then from Rayman 2. And he can charge it by keep pressing circle. He can shoot his fist with square. And if he picks up a yellow lum his engergy ball power will be more powerfull. And he can pick up the powers from Rayman 3 but this time it is it an weapon with ammo. Per time he pick up that power he gets 10 ammo.

While I agree with some of your points about rayman 3, on it's own it is a VERY good action-platformer. in terms of fitting in with the rayman series, it didn't do that great a job.

And why no black lums? But that ending from Rayman 3 that Rayman's hands are moving away when Rayman is sleeping and that they make the red lum scared and it begin over again is too bad.
But the rest from ending is good.
There need be a real ending like 2 (i didn't complete 1 because i play it not so many)

I'm glad you do, kcaj287. However, I'd assert that you like it for reasons different from the majority of fans of Rayman 1 and 2. That is where Rayman 3 failed and deserves a low grade.
If Ubisoft wishes to please those who were left empty-handed when they played through Rayman 3, then they need to stop throwing away the features of the preceding games as if they didn't exist and start USING THEM.

For a game with a different atmosphere, it certainly would. However, Rayman 3's whole overall atmosphere is a departure from its roots, and the overall departure is what most old school fans complain about.
Sure, the music is good from the perspective of those who aren't attached to the theme of Rayman 1, 2, and the various remakes and spinoffs of those games. But that's not the point. The music is only one of several things that is found wanting when it comes to Rayman's original theme.

Mr Dark is not dead! He died in the GBA version but it isnt a canon. Also the of the bosses of Rayman 1 that is dead is Mr Stone...the others are alive (in the credits you can sees Space Mama or Skops). And the worlds of Rayman 1 are the most fantastic and imaginative worlds!They are the best!Also I think in put things of Rayman 1 cause they never appeared in the other games.

Right, the powers come from the teensies IN THE FORM OF ENERGY CANS FROM BAD GUYS. Even if they come from the teensies, they don't cup their hands and generate an energy sphere (a lum) and give it to Rayman like Ly did in Rayman 2 and Rayman Revolution. They're still getting their cans from the bad guys, and besides that, you get the cans from the bad guys ten times more often from the bad guys themselves than from the teensies.

1. Mr. Dark or Razorbeard from the first games should return 'cus what happened to them? Rayman never finished them. Just like the black lum in Rayman 3, (but I don't want that on back)
2. Ly gives Rayman a whole new power at the start that has never been seen before

Yeah, man, exactly what I was thinking. The reason Rayman 3 wasn't as good as the first two was probably due to the fact that Michael Ancel wasn't on the team. Rayman 4 should have the fairy world element, but with a dark edge to it. Also, original characters should definitely come back. I'd especially like to see Mr. Skops, Mr. Dark, Razorbeard, the one-eyed guy, and maybe the magician.

Admittedly, it did make me laugh a little. But it was more of a "Come on, please..." kind of reaction. I look at Rayman 1 and 2, and I want to go, "Ooh... Wow... Neat!"
Anyway, thanks for all the comments and remarks! I do think Reflux is one awesome boss. Still, Rayman 3 was almost a complete departure from the series, unlike Rayman 2, which still seems an appropriate entry in the series even though it doesn't have characters from Rayman 1.

Its not that bad! It has its moments, it is funny (especially murphy), and rayman seems like more of a fun guy, a guy you could hang out with.
The story line isnt actually that bad either, its creative. Especially with the knaaren(i think i spelled that wrong, sorry), and to tell you the truth, i believe reflux is the most badass enemy in the rayman series D:

Pirates, Caterpillars, Zombie Chickens, big and small spiders, eyeballs, monsters from the cave of bad dreams, pirate ships, guardians, and so on and so forth. You can't deny that Rayman 2 has a decent share of enemies.
And by the way, you usually had to fight those enemies in groups. Usually not the pirates, but just about everything else.
