"When the gaming kids of today become the hairy winding twenty-somethings of the future, they'll be declaring that Halo 3 was miles better than a game of interstellar bum-pirates on the astral thought planes of the universal overmind, and they'll be just as wrong then as you are now."
But all that really advanced from 1985 to 1995 was the graphics, before 3D kicked off anyway. Super Mario World= a nicer looking/refined version of Super Mario Brothers. And money has always a factor.
@m1omg Mostly in America it's the problem. Our biggest problem is that most games made in the U.S. have written a book filled with all of the elements of previous hits. These elements are now made as standards (Resident Evil was the new standard for Horror games). I'm going to take this book, burn it, throw the ashes in their faces and show them how to make your own good game! ^^d
It only takes imagination and a good sense of entertainment. That's all you need.
I started off using an emulator called NO$ZX8, But i found recording with 'EightyOne' was easier. You should find them with a google easy enough, Any probs send me a message
amazing that this was only 30 years ago. look at this and then look at the detail in grand theft auto...its amazing.

I am using a ZX81 emulator called vb81. I changed the colours once, worked all right. But when I tried changing them again, I got this:
"Runtime error 380: Invalid property value"
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem, please?

Just guessing here, Try re-installing vb81, Or use the emulator eighty-one

Ah, the 8 minute whirring loading followed by the precarious grey screen of death if you moved the rampack half a millimetre.
Happy days :)
Now let's see the XBOX do this...

this is where doom came from , I had a zx81 in the 80s i always wanted this game , but had to make do with galaxians .

The ZX81 was my first computer & 3D monster maze was my very first game.
It's strange to think that I was ever impressed with the basic technology & graphics, but I really was.
Makes you wonder what computer games kids will be playing in another 25 years!

1985-1995 were the really good games, today its just graphics and money no real advancement
