  • Best, shot, ever, to win

Imho, even though Hackners '85 shot was for the tie, it was better because he was facing elimination.

  • You are all idiots. Everyone talking about the haters, that is. They are TROLLS, they are trying to make you angry. It's painfully obvious. Idiots.

  • That is the best shot in Brier history... and damn, I feel sorry for Joel. He was on a bit of a roll, a win in this game has him in playoff contention, His last shot is light and overcurls to block what would have been Howard's line for this shot, and then.. this.

Saskatchewan misses the playoffs and Joel and crew never made it back to the Brier. Man, such a tough tournament to win, unless you're one of the top three teams on the planet. That says it all!

  • I get a hard on every time I watch this shot.....

  • He'll win this next one too!

  • Yes, I just about hit the ceiling when I saw him make this LIVE!

  • I am so fucking high.

  • LOL If you haters have nothing nice to say, why the hell waste your time commenting on these videos? Go play with your **** or something.

  • To all the haters, I don't particularly like curling, but it is an extremely difficult sport, just like lawn bowls. Don't be a hater. No one asked you to watch this video.

  • AMERICAN football kicks ass btw...

  • @whitelightbulb41 I hope you read this.

I will agree with you that american football is awesome. ive played it.

however curling requires an incredible amount of precision. when delivering a rock, sliding to that first black line .1 second faster can send the rockan extra 10 feet. i would say that a football player would have a hard time throwing that shot.

  • @whitelightbulb41 Yep, and SF 49ers receiver Vernon Davis also likes curling!

  • shot seem cool but anyone can slide an oversize hand held vacuum cleaner on ice. It's like watching pain dry haha

  • @tkoizumi If you knew anything about this sport, you'd realize this was one of the greatest shots ever made. Most club curlers would not be able to make this shot.

  • @tkoizumi While anyone can slide these 40-odd pound stones down the ice, the difficult part is being able to control that throw. A shot like this requires similar precision to someone making a basket all the way from the oposite end of a basketball court. At this level of competition, shots requiring amazing levels of precision are the norm rather than the exception.

  • Nice shot!

  • This is what proves that curling is intense! The looks on everyone's face when he makes it really speaks fr itself!

  • i LOOVE this!!!

  • Excuse me whitelightbulb, but you're an asshole. Curling takes 500 times more skill than your pathetic little brain could even imagine. This shot was amazing. You couldn't even walk on ice you pathetic lump. Go talk about video games or whatever it is you do best.

  • Yeah, some people just don't get it. I don't curl myself but I used to work at a curling club and I used to perform basic ice maintainance. i.e. - pushing a wide sheepskin broom along each sheet & applying the pebble. One night I decided to give the game a try & I couldn't get a single stone in the 12 foot, nevermind make a stone hit another & make this or that happen. It's like golf. Until you try it yourself, you can't appreciate what the true professionals are able to do.

  • @whitelightbulb41 Kid, if you've played this sport for a few years you would realize that you need to be in shape to play it at this level. You'd be surprised at how much the sweeping sucks the wind out of you. Of course, given the calibre of videos you subscribe to; you'd probably never understand.

  • Curling has an interesting history. I found the following in a webpage about the, "EVOLUTION of CURLING."

"In the 1500's, in Scotland, The first recorded curling match was not a friendly game. It was a legally recorded challenge - a means of settling some argument or dispute."

I would like to know more about this.

  • wow!!!!

  • awesome curling shot

  • the only badass part is when ur sliding haha

  • Nice shot!

  • curling is playing team billiards with a funny stick while standing on the table.

(to paraphrase the late G. Carlin)

  • I'm with that Kris guy props to u and see ur right he probley doesn't even play I bet he's the American that's a nice shot and be like the other 50,000000 people out there and respect something that u can't do

  • @curlerking99

Yeah, stereotype all Americans you ignorant fuck.

  • Glenn is my idol! That is one of the best curling shots you will ever see!!!

  • People arguing like children in the comments on youtube. How original. Grow up both of you.

  • seriously man dont feed the fire this guy just lit one hell of a match under my feet and hes going to get the full brunt of the burn. Notice how he pussied out and didnt accept my challenge for a game? Hes just a troll

  • it cant get any better than that

  • Yeah, I know! You curl yourself? But, since I curl, I know how stupid the ice can be,essentially on hard shots! So,I know how hard of a shot that is!

  • pathetic, you're a douchebag and please stop starting shit on youtube you're probably american and you've probably never curled before

  • lmao you used the same insult as you did to the other guy craz93, lmao ya your just a troll get outta here

  • craz you make a good point but consider this. The distance of the shot makes that "right spot" as you call it, inches smaller so in order to hit the right spot you gotta be nothing but dead on, secondly think about the timing that shot was made, if you had watched the game that was the last shot of the game, for the win. Think about if you were in Glenns shoes sitting in that hack, the pressure of making the shot throwing the right weight and hitting the broom, thats what makes this shot amazing

  • that's not fair, simply not fair. any one who says curling's not a real sport tell them to makle this shot, tell em to even watch and comprehend the skill. best shot ever made, most likely forever.

  • @theultimateultimatum amen to that :p

  • @whitelightbulb41

fishing is great. its about as canadian as curling.

now i'm assuming ur not a canadian, and i respect your opinion. i'm not gunna try and start anything, but there are plenty more people on here who would support me over some mindless fuck who doesnt like curling because the video game didnt come out one x-box 360.

  • AHH Glenn Howard is god!

  • and why the hell did jordison put up a guard when he could have put it almost anywhere else

  • Its the single greatest shot ive ever seen and for some reason I get goosebumps watching it

  • The best part was being there seeing it LIVE!

  • nooooo waaaaay you're so lucky

  • @DwayneConlon that would have been something for sure! that's the feeling when the whole stadium is just waiting to see what happens ... CRAZY

  • @curler9311 The whole shot was overshadowed by The saksatchewans skips stupidity, but when glenn jumped in the air, it looked higher than it did in this video!

  • @DwayneConlon man your lucky, id kill to be in your seats when it happened

  • @DwayneConlon actually when it happened live on television, when i watched it i jumped so high out of my seat, i just couldn't believe it... I don't think ill ever have another moment like that in my life ever again.. The shock and amazement in my reaction was... something else

  • @kris8144 when i saw it we had just finished a game and came on to watch the end of this one. it was like midnight and It happened and I felt short of breath, it was just stunning to see.

  • Not only an amazing shot, but it was to win the game....and to win a Brier game that way makes it even more amazing.

  • ya that's what they were saying all along. The only way this shot could've been any better is if it was in the final instead. The best shot in the history of curling to date bar-none

  • really how did jordison ever beat Pat Simmons... like if i had this shot made against me... idk what i would do but i have a feeling hes retiring he got his ass droped this year

  • ok i dont know jack about curling but i know enough to comment how epic that was. even the opponent was clapping

  • The opponent that I think you are talking about isn't an opponent. That was Russ Howard, Glenn's brother, who is the skip for team New Brunswick

  • Curling is kinda dull, but epic shot is epic.

  • I was cheering for Sask as I am from and live in Saskatchewan, but that shot that Howard made there was unbelievable.

  • AMAZING!

  • this is really incredible....

    yah.. outstanding! :O ... lol

  • shot of the year.

  • Yeah...really awesome...

  • Exciting Stuff...

  • Pistol.

  • only curling shot that ever has deserved highlight of the night

  • i wish i could make a shot like that!

  • absolutely ridiculous shot

  • joel jordison looks like a serial killer

  • Best shot ive seen made ever!

  • Sport: Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.

If you can tell me sweeping isn't physical then... well there is different ways that broom can be used.

Curling is definitely a sport. Poker is not.

  • I hope these morons who are on here bashing curling and this shot understand they sound stupid.

I'm not even a curling fan but I am smart enough to understand the game and this shot is simply amazing.

  • pretty "weird" stuff..but gotta admit that was intense and pretty damn amazing

  • GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

  • screw you you could never make that and don't even know how hard it is try doing smothing before bashing it

  • the definition of a sport is essentially an activity that makes you physically exhausted... curling is a fine example of this and if you have ever been out on that ice and experienced the game for yourself you would understand how wrong you are

  • Curling is a sport, but Palestine is not a country.

  • so i get rated -5? lmao you guys need to learn how to read...

  • -6 actually, you dumbass

  • and why was i minus 6 lmao your the idiot im a curler it is my sport i respect it as for you guys with no brains and a limited reading level you guys dont even deserve to go on the ice, but if you do make sure you wear a helmet because if you fall without one youll be risking what little brain cells you have left, fucking idiot

  • hey great grammar, actually i play curling too and i'd love to play you sometime but actually maybe not since you think you need a helmet to curl you retard haha douche

  • your a really funny guy bro and once again you cant read just proving my point. i suggested you wear a helmet to protect what little brain cells you have left apprently, i over estimated how much you had since you cant comprehende a simple english sentence... since i know your not going to read anything i say and just talk outta your ass next comment ill take you up on a game, or even a single shot to the button, that way we can just leave this on the ice sound good? name the time and place

  • you live in ontario so we can actually arrange this game? do you even have a team? I suggest oakville curling club but once again up to you

  • im actually really excited to see the big mouth play, who knows maybe your actually the person whos american and is mocking the sport, wouldnt that be a big turn around... i think not only you but everyone who rated my comment low without even reading it would owe me a big apology

  • The sweepers showed some great communication by not touching the richocheted stone out one side (28 sec) while the vice swept out the stone going straight out the back (26 sec). Real teamwork and vision to see that shot then pull it off.

  • Sick shot. I hope he beats Martin's ass.

  • its alot easier on curling ice much much different then skating ice

  • haha i never watch curling, but that was pretty sick

  • Curling is lame, but I can appreciate a sick shot when i see one

  • sweet best shot ever

  • amazing.

  • Im not a big curling fan, more of a Hockey candian myself,

but I think that right there is THE best shot I will see in my lifetime.

  • you are a moron curling rocks

  • youre probably too idiot to know that but curling is a sport and it could be very hard on your back thats why you gotta be in somekind of shape

  • This shot will forever be remembered as a perfect lesson on why guard placement is so important in the game of curling :) Man, you miss a guard by one foot, and look what happens...

  • so Epic

  • WOW haha, not a fan of curling but how diversified is youtube getting that curling is a top viewed video haha, dont know the rules about curling but the shot looked badass haha.

  • It was incredibly bad ass. Best curling shot, maybe ever...

  • Amazing shot! How the heck do those Howard boys even envisage shots like that before attempting it? Good compilation TSN. Glenn and Kevin Martin in the 2009 final maybe?

  • awesome shot

  • feckin' well-made promo. Kudos tsn

  • lol i love how they made this so dramatic great intro to the show

  • WOW!!!!

  • simply amazing

  • OK, to execute a shot like that is unbelievable... but to envision the shot first is stuff that only legends can do.

By far one of the most unbelievable shots ever made in a clutch moment.

Them Howard boys sure can curl...

  • best shot ever

  • Man what a sick shot hes going to need to pull some of those when he plays martin because the old bear is going to really put it to him.

  • nice shot, too bad it was flipping through all the different camera angles

  • Amazing! I am from Saskatchewan so I was really pulling for Joel, but that was absolutely amazing!! Awesome shot Glenn!
