I work in a biomedical research lab and I have a similar condition. When I'm working alone my hands and fingers are pretty steady. But as soon as someone looks over my shoulder, I get a severe anxiety attack and my hands and fingers shake badly. It's really annoying, and makes me look incompetent, when in fact I know what I'm doing. It's ruining my life, so I'm planning to see my gp about this to see if he can prescribe anything (perhaps propranolol).
I have that EXACT same problem except my hands are 10x worse, and its now moved on to my Jaw, and tounge . Ive had it since I was 3 and im 16 now . I cant present presentations in school without people looking just at what Im showing, everyone stares at my hands. I would love to know what its like to live without them! If you find anyway that helps get rid of them I would love to know!
@keghaywood : you should not be embarrassed if people ask you about your shaking...at least they want to know and don't just think you're alcoholician.
i told my friends about it and so they know about it. if people wonder or ask me i just tell them so they understand and even get to know that there's a disease like that.
btw: stopped taking this beta stuff some month ago and try to get along without them again as long as i am able to.
i hav that too and everyday it works even f at rest.....it bcame worst when having some physical exertion..or when im nervous...espcially when im writing...its so embarassing for me coz even juz in a smple task, its really2 hard to do..i notice it...i think 1st yr highschool....,right now im coming college lvel....already 16...and still suffering.....its really2 hard for me to hav this kind of???disease?? is it??? im too young for this and it hurt me so much.......
Lots of tremor in fingers, especially when hot or after long sesion on xbox, tremor allover body when in half situp position, slight tremor in head when look to left or right, cheeks slightly tremor when smile, its driving me crazy!! anyone get these symptoms? when hands are cold tremor goes almost completly! im only 17 ffs!
I have hand tremors too, well only shakes when I do sometihng that requires precision like picking small food up with a chopstick, it sucks because I've never had that before.
My twin brother and I have it but I never got it treated. The worst thing for me is the embarassment when I'm at a restaurant and don't want to pick up my glass to take a drink because someone will see me shake and ask about it. It has stopped me from wanting to work in the science or medical field. Yuo're right when you say you can't be a surgeon. My drill sergeant would yell at me all the time about it when I was in the army. I didn't know what it was until recently.
I was diagnosed with essential tremor about a year ago and had never heard of it but it's really annoying and i have a hard time typing at times and playing guitar very frustrating for sure. propranolol helps it quite a bit, my right hand index finger was really bad and i thought it might be parkinsons but the doctor said he didn't think so. anyway stress and caffeine really make it work. i was told by my doctor that a little alcohol helped but that really wasn't a good thing
me too in fact im having a tremor attack right now (lol tremor attack)Its bad, I cant play my guitar at the time... It is affecting all parts of my body...
I have that too. It only stops if my hand is anchored against something like a table. If i'm focusing on something with one hand, my other hand usually shakes a lot more than usual.
I have that too... it sucks, knowing you cant do a lot of things, lol it was funny that you said surgeon cause that what i always tell people i cant do... cause if i did id probably kill them ^^
my hand shakes just like this
