I speak fluent hebrew and her accent is horrible. she has a beautiful voice but it is just torture to hear her sing with such a horrid accent. EICHSA!
Love this. This whole Pink Martini CD is great. They sing songs from several countries in different languages. Various songs, from the traditional Christmas songs to ones that we don't often hear.
@aloysus1984 I'm assuming you are unfamiliar with Pink Martini. Their music is historically multicultural. In continuing this tradition with their holiday album, they are simply being themselves. If you don't like it, there are hundreds of other artists who've made Christmas albums which may be more to your liking.

@MsYulifer גם אני מדבר עברית שותפת, ואני די מסכים איתך, המבטא שלה מאוד מעצבן.

@aloysus1984 Perhaps because Jesus was a Jew who spoke Aramaic, the language of this song. Perhaps because Christianity is a sect of Judiasm. Dunno.

This is said as part of the Amidah, a Jewish prayer. It's said three times a day by the very observant.

Ó, meu Deus, livra a minha língua do mal e os meus lábios do engano
Ajude-me a ficar em silêncio diante do escárnio e humilde perante todos
Meu Deus, meu Deus
Abra o meu coração
Abra o meu coração para as tuas leis.
Que as palavras da minha boca e as meditações do meu coração te sejam aceitáveis.
Meu Senhor, meu Senhor, minha Rocha
Meu Senhor, minha Rocha e meu Redentor

Sorry, but this is Neil Diamond wrapped up in Oregonian New Age waddle-twaddle.
PM, stick to what you do best. Don't do stuff like this, even though the musical quality is, as usual, impeccable.

Translation:
O God, keep my tongue from evil
And my lips from deceit.
Help me be silent in the face of derision,
Humble in the presence of all
Open my heart
To Your Teachings.
May the words of my mouth
And the meditations of my heart be acceptable to You,
EternalOne, my Rock and my Redeemer.

this is not a very good translation but the song means something along the lines of:
God seal my tongue from evil (Elohai netzor leshoni mera)
And my lips from speaking deceit
And to those who curse me my soul will halt
And my soul will be as dust for all
Open my heart, with your teaching (/torah) (Ptah libi betoratkha)
I wish my sayings (Ihiyu lerazon imrei pi...)
and my heart's sense brought before you
God, my saviour.
it's not that accurate but it's basically it

@Leilani828 It's in Hebrew. It's a prayer. It says something like "May God guard my tongue from evil...". Google it.
