Good for you - sometimes you have to lose to win: I entered the Guitar Center guitarmageddon event around 2002 and didn't make it to the next round either - it was my first try. Since that time I have played out with a local blues band a lot at the Sunday open mics and really worked on my performance chops. I think that made the difference this time (my second try since then).
