hmm.. not trying to be a pro or anything but i think mike did make a mistake, if u not prepare to call the reraise then he should of just flat call the bet on the flop? when u reraise u have to have a plan ..
All of you that are saying this is a stupid laydown have not played enough BIG tournaments. Coinflip situations before the middle/end part of the tournament is a dumb move to make, and there is no way to know at this point that an ace high flush isnt already made, and even if so, he doesnt want a 49% chance of being knocked out.
@adolfolicious 1. Not everyone tells the truth. 2. Even if he did, the A or K of spades in his hand would put matusow at risk. As the commentator said, matusow likes to play small pots, unless he has the cold nuts.
"I either get eliminated by Mike or i get doubled up by Mike"
That statement could reveal the strenght of his hand because it is saying that those two possibilities still exist. In other words, he doesnt have the ace high flush yet.
that is one hell of a read by mike. I would have called and be sick. Should of asked for the turn and river

You might last longer in the tournament but you'll never win playing like that.

@adolfolicious I get what you're saying, but he could still lose even if he had the A high flush. Mike could have had a straight flush draw!

Poor Mike... he is getting paranoid about losing..

It wasn't that bad of a lay down, he prob just wanted to play small ball poker and build up a stack slowly instead of taking big gambles like that.
I think it was the right move.
