You obviously have some skill, you put together some quality fills, but as you stated before, you haven't played in years and your timing is miserable throughout the video. Phoband this is just some advice so I hope you receive it well. This is from one drummer to another. Try being more humble and perhaps people won't take you the wrong way. How far back you can trace a bloodline is irrelevant. That's not what makes you a good player. I myself have been playing for well over 20 years but there are plenty of other drummers out there who could teach me a thing or two. The learning process never ends so keep that in mind. Pluse these sound awesome and record perfect and i've been mic-ing acoustic drums for 20 yrs. I'd take this kit in a heartbeat over everything i've done in th past,
AND i spent 3500 on it. You have to be tricky and buy things carefully, but you dojn't need to spend 7000, uneless you just want everythign delivered overnight and done wtih. even then your only in the 5 range, with the DB pedal, and throne

If you record, or if you play out, or if you like to sound good practicing, its totaly worth it. this last round with the td20, they finally got it real, the td 10 didn't really get there.
One thing about the TD 20 Is you have to get everything so seperatly the pedals hi hat pedal everything. Even tho its like that for almost all drum kits, this is about 5000-7000 dollars give them some fricken pedals.

Start smaller, dude. Don't try to take on somebody pro like Mike Portnoy or Neil Peart as a start. If you want to get to that point, start with a lot simpler stuff and keep learning. Check out a drum method book, too.

you know something else no one takes into acct, I had these drums set up for like a week. There is a totally different feel to playing electric drums then there are acoustics. It takes time. Jeez. I would have made a follow up to this a long time ago, but my sound card that had the direct digital connect my father borrowed and broke. so annoying. The bass drum to Hot for Teacher has a shuffle to it, however its still supposed to be played in time. Dont make lame excuses about your playing...

the joke is to sit down and play like rainman, then start blowing people away :) but i think alot of people here, take the first few seconds and click off - of course, the video was made for 4 people to see, not 68000. i'm' a drummer and started guitar around th same time i did drums, about 13 yrs old. I'm putting together a prog rock band and i'm going to play guitar, and maybe do some singing. i have a yamaha maple custom. IT MAKE TOO MUCH NOISE to have with a baby.
Pluse these sound awesome and record perfect and i've been mic-ing acoustic drums for 20 yrs. I'd take this kit in a heartbeat over everything i've done in th past,
AND i spent 3500 on it. You have to be tricky and buy things carefully, but you dojn't need to spend 7000, uneless you just want everythign delivered overnight and done wtih. even then your only in the 5 range, with the DB pedal, and throne

you can get setup fro 2k if you do it right.
I spent 3500 and i'm pimpin my set big time.
If you record, or if you play out, or if you like to sound good practicing, its totaly worth it. this last round with the td20, they finally got it real, the td 10 didn't really get there.

One thing about the TD 20 Is you have to get everything so seperatly the pedals hi hat pedal everything. Even tho its like that for almost all drum kits, this is about 5000-7000 dollars give them some fricken pedals.

um, look, 10 yr old, do you play that beat? if you should, look at this as a learning opportunity to stop playing it, cause the rest of us - are laughing at you. If you don't play drums and you play that beat its, just, not funny, but, annoying, like that knuckle song on the piano that every schmo plays.
I play for me- i'm the artist. As a matter of fact i have played with several musicians that are, have been and were recording artists. its not that impressive.

So , funny, I've wanted to do a new project for awhile. - i've always played guitar and drums and have never been fully happy with the outcome. I found an amazing wworld class drummer, were audition base players, and i'm playing guitar in Rock/Funk/Fusion band with a singer.

Start smaller, dude. Don't try to take on somebody pro like Mike Portnoy or Neil Peart as a start. If you want to get to that point, start with a lot simpler stuff and keep learning. Check out a drum method book, too.

So for all the haters - i was at a jam session with friends last weekend, mostly because some people that used to have a band were in town from peru. Anyway, average age of musician there, 50 + all pros all their life. We had a conga player, Who in 1984, was touring as an opening act in california and did 3 weeks with TOTO. Ok, i admit that there is 1 extra kick beat thats different the half time shuffle played on Rosanna.
tonight i went to a friend's jam session with guys that my friend played with in Peru. All pro musicians. I mostly played guitar. - However there was a femal Conga Player who, in 84/85 was in an opening band and did 3 weeks touring w/ toto. They asked her to play on africa
She has pronounced my toto beat dead on - based upon my live playing it this eve. -so there you go.

That first beat is hilarious! Every time I see 10 yr olds at Guitar center jump on the drums who think they know how to play, that is ALWAYS the beat! HAHAHA. Other than that, great drumming man. I'd like to get my double bass fills as smooth as yours...still working on it. Overall, solid drumming. You should post more videos playing along with songs.

you know something else no one takes into acct, I had these drums set up for like a week. There is a totally different feel to playing electric drums then there are acoustics. It takes time. Jeez. I would have made a follow up to this a long time ago, but my sound card that had the direct digital connect my father borrowed and broke. so annoying. I'm going to work out a way to make a decent recording to shut all you idiots up

ok, after listening to my recording i know what your talking about. re: the extra kick hit. - - once again, this was not ment to be a lesson or even a perfect masterpiece, it was a 10 minute project just to show off the sounds the "kit" had, and that kit was a toto IV kit. I do know how to play the beat, and if asked to play it, i would play it correctly. I play dozens of variations on the half time shuffle
