  • What I really love is how all the musician's are having fun.

Especially Fred Savage (who knew?) at 1:44 - 148.

  • Love it!!! Herb is amazing!!!!

  • LUV IT THANK YOU!

  • This, and other TJB videos on YouTube, made me realize how much I miss their being in mainstream entertainment today. Herb has to be one of the most brilliant musicians and arrangers ever to be in the industry. Few people can come close to him. He is a real "Class Act."

  • Wow!!!! This is great stuff!!! Herb you rock!!

  • Who will be the next great Herb Alpert & The TJB??????????

  • No One.....

  • product plug for their earlier albums..lmao..go 'head on mr. alpert and the tjb:)

  • Great arrangement. Herb covered several Beatles songs and always came up with interesting ways to interpret them. I have to put in my two bits re. the miming to playbacks. TV sound quality in the 60s was way below the standard of recording technology. The best way to promote your record on a TV variety show was to mime to it, essentially just like in a video (no one complains about that). Ever seen the clip of the Doors playing live on Ed Sullivan? Too much echo and terrible sound quality.

  • WOW- really cool video-thanks for posting

  • That's my favorite song.. Terrific music.

  • I love that song.. Thanks.. GREAT!!

  • How I miss true talent and innovation, Herb was a genius and a musical pioneer. We have no one or nothing that even comes close today. This wonderful, lively, and happy music will forever bring great memories of a wonderful and happy time gone forever. Herb's unmistakable style and mastery of his trumpet are like none other. Thank you Herb, you are the greatest.

  • This was from the ABC varieey series, Hollywood Palace.

Gotta like that Wonder Years tune. Love the cool vibraphone part of that song.

  • I have always enjoyed TJB since I been a kid. Now 45 years of age I am so glad I never attended their concerts. They are pretending to play. Just look at the pianist when he strikes a note. Non of the keys ever goes down when her strikes a white or black key, how fake!!! Not to mention the drummer also. He's hitting the corner of the snare with one stick and the other stick is barely hitting the other stick!!! How fake...I still like their music tho...just not the tactics.

  • Due to poor acoustics and the fact that these appearances were taped prior to airing on t.v., all music was "dubbed" and the performers simply pretended to play. In live concerts however Herb and the guys played their instruments, producing real live music.

  • I have witnessed Herb Alpert & TJB LIVE several times as a kid in the late Sixties, and there was nothing but pure musicianship and professionalism at all times. The fake stuff you are referencing is due to the unpridictability and unreliabilitty of LIVE TV and the archaic audio equiptment at the TV studio-LIVE WAS LIVE,they ALL played everything, and they were KILLER!!!-though nothing sounds quite as good as that old tube warmth throughout the original recordings!

  • I also failed to mention that the Electric Guitar and Bass were not connected to anything. Wireless gear I do not think existed back then. At least not at this level.

  • superb!!!

  • Awesome! Thank you!

  • What an awesome video clip. Supurb quality. Thank you so much for posting.
