Alison- I have an old cassette of yours called "Twilight Motel" I love it. I just did a search for you on YouTube. Thanks for posting. I love your Banjo Style. It is soothing to listen to. I play a little Banjo. It is a neat instrument-very versitile to many styles of music. I put this Vid on my Banjo Playlist!!
I first say Allison and her band at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival in Denver and was amazed. I had never heard anyone play the banjo the way she does. Usually banjo playing is so frantic that about a couple of minutes of it is enough.
This one song here is about Saint Brendan's sea voyage, one of her best. This the kind of music you want to just lay back on the grass with a nice wine and mellow out.
Agree - but I could always listen to any amount of frantic John Hartford. With poor John's untimely death I have moved on and - for me at least - Allison is his natural successor. And ain't she sweet;0) Sigh!
