Google TV is lame. I hook up my little $200 dell slim and stream any video from anywhere on the net. Not only can I watch hulu or google but I can download any movie in the world for free. Stop wasting money on lame ass set top boxes and buy a small compact computer. It hooks up via hdtv cord or even vga to the back of your hdtv. Then just go to netflix.com or download anything. In addition you have 300GB of space to store everything you ever need.

This is why Alex & Kevin Rock & I have been watching them since TechTV & it is because they are good at what they do & I just love that they are opposites in the view of a product or service area because they always gives both sides. I hope Google TV ends up like they said, but you know these companies never give us what we want will probably have to tweak/hack this box also like we did our AppleTV using ATVFlash best easiest Apple TV Hack Ever & it will be coming out for the new Apple TV also.

They explained it all in the keynote! There'll be small keyboards with touchpads and your iPhones/ Androids/ ... as remotes.

Simply put, Google TV is the (open-source, Android-based) software sitting directly behind your screen, right at the end of the line (for now either @ Sony Internet TV or a Logitech settop box), designed for that spot to be the "knot" where your DVR and internet connection come together, so you have recorded stuff, TV guide & the full web together, along with Android apps

- Chrome Web Store will only have free & payed apps that work in ANY modern browser.

- Google TV is the 1st platform:

1) COMBINING cable TV content and web content into 1 interface, with unified search & home screen, and

2) the 1st w/ a real browser for the FULL web.

- It's not a replacement for any DVR, it's an EXTRA level

@MrMaaC94 No, they always try to makes things better for users of technology, often in ways the user wouldn't have thought of could be improved or made better. That said, the intention of Android was, I believe, originally to become the open standard for all sorts of mobile devices, something I'm not quite sure they've given up on (why would they, its success is growing steeply).

Didn't you post this already? Anyways I doubt it will be competing with cable or satelite. It will be an apple tv competitor and if apple doesn't update theirs google will get a head just like htc and iphone.
