  • A hipster at 5:28!! LOL

  • nic fiend is REAL goth

  • @drausrrr Nik & Chris are 2 of the nicest & genuine people you can wish to meet, & Johnny Ha Ha's a typical crazy drummer charachter. I writhed naked under bloodstained buthers muslin @an early ASF gig in Heaven-wish I'd still pic's of it, I was only 16! Was clubbing @15 pre Batcave @Le Beatrout. Gr8 times! I almost went on to run the Feinds fan club, as I'd traveled all over taking photo's for them so their tour manger Billi asked me-GUTTED I never said yes now-allowed romance to get in the way

  • thease peoples are dirty and starving on the street they that the street bum .

  • Good to see The Great Suprendo's fans out in force.

  • haha 5:58 music from Psycho I think.

  • If that guy at 00:45 is not David J, then...well, someone should look into this matter.

  • ♥.♥

  • este club todavia existe en su sitio original???

  • You have this DVD ???

Can you upload for download and send me the link to my page of YouTube ???

    pls *.*

    Thank you ^^

  • Screw Justin Bieber, I want Alien Sex Fiend!!!

  • @disneygothprincess A-Bloody-Men Deary! :)

  • I went to the Batcave a couple of times - to be honest it was a bit past it even then, you didn't miss much, the early Banshee gigs and the early Bauhaus gigs were much more sinister.

  • YEESS♥ ♪

  • Is it a kind of fashion to cry how cool it was then, and how bad it is now? Fuck it, even though Batcave is alive (and it's great) youth should act and do something themselves. If everyone cries, what will be changed? Nothing at all.

I always consider Batcave as a reference when I act or do parties (and it's obvious), but I never try to copy. That era's gone, and it's time for the current youth to develop what we have. But where are they?

    -Nattsol.

  • don't judge batcave as a form of art. It was clearly a post-punk attitude of how these guys espressed themselves and having a real good time!!!!

  • Yes this is real goth. The thing is, The Batcave took what was already there and proclaimed themselves the leaders of it all and they weren't. Goth existed before them and in the end it outlasted them. I've got to say - Alien Sex Fiend are the WORST band I've ever seen ever. Utter shite. Boring. Tedious. Saw them at Keele Uni and they went down like a cup of cold sick.

  • @Alembic25

I agree with you to a point, I believe that people should look to the current scene for their own inspiration.

At the time of the Batcave, I'm 50 and used to go there, it was a mixture of people, some post punks, some New Wave, Alternative and Avant garde / Futurists types, and a mix of music was played. True a lot of it would be later tagged or classed as Goth (a term which wasn't even around at the time), such as Specimen, Alien Sex Fiend, Flesh For Lulu, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry.

  • @Alembic25 Strange I saw Alien Sex Fiend a few times in London 83 - 84 and they were brilliant.

  • @Alembic25 piss off

  • @mrjugger Thanks for that. I've got to say it how I saw it. They were really bad and couldn't hold the audience who started leaving and headed for the bar. I followed them myself. Serious style of substance situation. Laughable. A bit like you really.

  • @Alembic25 no you are the type who ASF fans wolkd beat up outside because you were boring art school twats

  • this is the real goth ,not the shit of today.

  • I don't personally give a fuck if the band is goth or not. If the music is good, then I listen to it.

  • Thanks so much for posting this!

  • this is some amazing s**t!

    thanks so much for posting!

  • a round of applause for keepin me entertained .. =D

  • it's all about batcave F**K today's gothic scene

  • like uptight77 said... it was a great, fun club

I was there when they filmed this :0)

I don't really care for modern Goth stuff, but I'm 45, it's not aimed at me

  • i love alien sex fiend and specimen they are amazing old school is the best

  • This is rubbish. Those Batcave bands collectively - gave Goth a bad name. Like Syndrome without the laughs. Most of all Alien Sex Fiend; these shouting, cobwebbed stringbeans were labelled "Positive Punk" in the NME at the time. There was nothing positive about them. Horrible

  • Goth could be explained in many different ways, sub-cultures evolve, things change, and I can only find this as a different, possibly more artistic representation of Goth. I don't find it to be rubbish, yes I grandly appreciate Regular, Old School Goth, but I find this to be only a different way of those Old School Goths to represent their Individuality. And I'm curious on how this could ever be labeled as Positive?

  • Umm, excuse me, but without this "rubbish" you wouldn't have "goth" today. So shut your fucking mouth, nobody wants to hear you talk shit.

  • And sombody wants to hear you talk shit? The truth hurts for you obvously.

  • Against you, for talking shit on these bands, I'm sure everybody that reads this doesn't mind reading me talking shit on you.

  • But anyway, you don't have to be rude to me, you don't know me man. I think everyone have a right to give an opinion without being verbally biased.

  • Hey you were talking shit first, so don't pull that shit with me.

  • You were cursing at me. What I wrote earlier here was a quote from the NME dated 1991.

  • this is the real gothic ...not the gothic of today

  • great^^

  • OMG, So '80s scared of makup.

  • Wish I was alive back then. Love old school goth music!!!

  • @DeepUnreal Me too mate. I wish people in the area where I live dressed like the people in this video. Teased hair dyed in different colors, trashy jeans, slashed shirts, black jackets, fishnets, boots, belts, chains, spikes, white face, make-up that makes one either look like a ghoulish vampire or zombie or a sexy egyptian. None of this tight jeans, vintage clothes, beanies, moptop hair theflips out and covers one's eyes, horn rimmed glasses, v-neck shirts, or plaid button up shirts.........>_<

  • @DeepUnreal Me too...or at least this style was more active and more known in this time.....I HATE the way young people wear their hair......>_< I wish there were more and more people in the area where I live that sport crazy, outlandish hair......Nearly every teenaged guy I see sports a haircut similar to that of Justin You-Know-Who......:( I absolutely ADORE 80's Punk/Gothic/Deth Rock/New Wave hair style!^_^

  • @DeepUnreal I was alive and working on the scene. As it says in 'The Beauty Of Poison' "These are the times of our lives" and for me they were................... :)

  • those were some great days man... i wish i could be young again... :(

  • great video

  • what uptight77 said :-) so right. The sad repro Goth image these days is not really what it was all about at the outset.

Fuck angst, we had a laugh!

  • what uptight77 said :-) so right. The sad repro Goth image these days is not really what it was all about at the outset.

Fuck angst, we had a laugh!

  • WOW !!!!!!!!!!!

  • teh begining of Gothic Rock : Post Punk Batcave

  • Bring the old days back, and kill those stupid pseudo-metalheads that listen to Nighwish and write their "dark" poetry.

    Batcave's not dead!

  • It was Enormous fun. Crap magic acts, strippers, Rocky Horror shit before it was naff, the Specimen camping it up, dancing to Bauhaus and Teenage Rampage, girls queuing in the mens loos to snort sulphate in the cubicle.

The legacy ("Goth") got its trendy misery reputation from saddo northern bands, but the Batcave was its birth and yes - fun.

  • i love it looks like fun. ^_^!!! wish i were there
