Now there are very accurate simulators where you don't drain your wallet for every crash. Even though sims are not 100% accurate it really saves you a lot of money in the real life. Realflight, Phoenix RC, ClearviewRC, FMS etc and most of these has free demo, but you have to have a transmitter.

@mandrakezu I don't think there's technically a reason why is there? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. These things have all the same controls a real helicopter does. It's to do with altering the angle of the blades so thrust is directed upwards rather than downwards.

@ShokaLion Your right. But a real heli cant do it as they cant angle the blades as much as the 3D RC-models. But technically you could build a real heli that could do the same kind of tricks. Would be an awesome ride.

This guy is pretty good, but I can already do some of that stuff with my Trex 500... inverted backwards, upright and inverted funnels, stationary flips/rolls, in-line rolls, stall turn, etc., but I've only been flying for 4 months. I'm practicing stationary pirouettes and half piro-flips now.

Come on. Only the take off and landing looks controlled. The rest us all over the place. Up down left right. Me thinks u need to stedy your thumbs a bit. Try relaxing a bit of ti chee or sumert fell next time, befor u go playing hellichopters. That should do the trick. Barr lads tday there all whizzed up in buckfast and meth. No wonder it's a bit wobbly.

I have had a sim for about 8 months and I started building my heli a while back but im not finished and I am already getting pretty good in the sim. If it works in real life I am gonna be off to a real good head start. My vote.... Buy a Simulator. I have RFG5 and I hear Phoenix and Reflex are good and Clearview too.

@burnrider2001 Don't worry about DoktorSeltsam1. Keep on simming...best thing you could do. A good sim like G5 is remarkably like the real thing. Only difference I've encountered is really just the awareness of consequenses which makes me fly more carefully in real life.

@Golgafrinchamdent Oh believe me, im not because i finished my heli and did a back flip the first day... on the 3rd battery of course when i got comfy. 9 months worth of sim flying does that. So the Doktor is quite wrong. I also fly a 30 size heli and its alot more stable than the smaller ones.

@KeithWasHere1 Yeah the Simulators helped big time. I'm more into Multi-Rotors (quads and tricopters) then I am Helis now but 2 years ago when I wrote that comment and was learning Helis the simulators saved me a lot of money from possible crashes.

@tonyastro Yes i think the sim is the way 2 go. plz look my vids made from sim! search helisim, and when you see vids from ghost500 then watch plz make comment also. first vid is only 3 weeks practising sim second vid less than 2 months. NO previus heli experience at all.
