I play both guitar hero and real guitar. Guitar hero wanted me to play real guitar because it was so much fun playing Guitar hero. Yes real guitar is so much harder then guitar hero. I also play Drums, sing, bass, and a little piano i did self tech for drums, bass, and piano but guitar i had lessons for but stop having lesson.

i play real guitar, i can shred, i can sweep, i can do all sorts of things, but i started playin guitar hero :D i think its a great warm up thing, it improves coordination, it really gives you speed on both hands, i think its an awesome way of introducing someone to guitar playin or bass playin or even now with the gh drums, drum playin!

@HiImJerry8 true story... i would always pick drums on 'rock band'. i noticed that it was really easy for me to get 100% on medium and sometimes on hard. i went out and bought a real drum set. i'm currently gigging with a band, and i LIVE for playing drums. it just came so naturally, and it all started two years ago with rock band.
The reason "real guitarists" don't kick ass instantly at Guitar Hero is because the game isn't anywhere near as accurate as people think it is when it comes to timing. On top of that, it's completely counter-intuitive to chord and scale forms - something you build an ear and reflex for after years of playing the real thing.
A non-guitarist would likely never notice how bonkers Guitar Hero is when it comes to rhythm and timing.
The wierdest thing is, is I STARTED playing guitar hero. Once i beat expert, I started playing REAL guitar, and now i can do all sorts of crazy shit. I'm not bullshittin either. I don't know if guitar hero helped or anything, but it's pretty fucking crazy, XD

Like think about it, when you are young you usually play like games and kinda simulate with your friends, but then when you grow up, your job is usually based off what you liked to do when you were a child.
I find it odd that everyone I know who is legitimately better than me at Guitar Hero is a real guitarist, yet the people who play the songs for real have trouble playing them in the game on easy. It just goes to show that there is no correlation between guitar hero/ rock band guitar or drum and the real thing. Of course, with the real musicians, their difficulty with the game comes with unfamiliar placement of the buttons. They obviously understand the rhythm of their own song.

I actually happen to enjoy playing both. While real guitar definitely feels more fulfilling, GH allows you to just have fun, and play things you wouldn't normally be able to on a real guitar.
i tried guitar hero once, and this christmas i had to choose between real guitar and guitar hero, i like guitar hero and its cheaper, but no one who really likes music would choose guitar hero over a real guitar, thats why i did it, but i havent had any lessons and a friend only taught me 3 songs, i would feel better with guitar hero right now cause i suck at guitar lol but the real thing is the best
keep practicing it would pay off more in the future to waste your time learning real then fake plus its more rewarding then raking up the points compared to finnishing a real song ...stick with it watch youtube vids if you hafto dont give up for a game .get it next christmas when guitar hero 35 will be released by then lol

i play real guitar, i can shred, i can sweep, i can do all sorts of things, but i started playin guitar hero :D i think its a great warm up thing, it improves coordination, it really gives you speed on both hands, i think its an awesome way of introducing someone to guitar playin or bass playin or even now with the gh drums, drum playin!

@HiImJerry8 true story... i would always pick drums on 'rock band'. i noticed that it was really easy for me to get 100% on medium and sometimes on hard. i went out and bought a real drum set. i'm currently gigging with a band, and i LIVE for playing drums. it just came so naturally, and it all started two years ago with rock band.

The reason "real guitarists" don't kick ass instantly at Guitar Hero is because the game isn't anywhere near as accurate as people think it is when it comes to timing. On top of that, it's completely counter-intuitive to chord and scale forms - something you build an ear and reflex for after years of playing the real thing.
A non-guitarist would likely never notice how bonkers Guitar Hero is when it comes to rhythm and timing.

Like think about it, when you are young you usually play like games and kinda simulate with your friends, but then when you grow up, your job is usually based off what you liked to do when you were a child.

I find it odd that everyone I know who is legitimately better than me at Guitar Hero is a real guitarist, yet the people who play the songs for real have trouble playing them in the game on easy. It just goes to show that there is no correlation between guitar hero/ rock band guitar or drum and the real thing. Of course, with the real musicians, their difficulty with the game comes with unfamiliar placement of the buttons. They obviously understand the rhythm of their own song.

I actually happen to enjoy playing both. While real guitar definitely feels more fulfilling, GH allows you to just have fun, and play things you wouldn't normally be able to on a real guitar.

Guitar Hero sucks no matter who is playing it, and a real guitar is actually much easier to play than Guitar Hero.
I've tried Guitar Hero, and because of my intense DDR skills, I was good at it, and beat it on expert in about an hour. I had played a real guitar before that, and still do. It is MUCH easier than Guitar Hero, and is actually worth-while.

@CLICKMEYOULOSER =/= has always been known as does not equal. / meaning not, = meaning equal. "does not equal". I knew this when I was 5.
New Zealand is in America last I checked, no excuse not to use good English. Freedom of Speech would mean censorship doesn't exist in the media for words like fuck, and shit. Too bad they are censored killing any "freedom" of my speech.
