Is it necessary for the bar to be weighted?. If your applying as much isometric force as possible against the squat rack will the added weight not just reduce this force output?

Interesting...Any ideas on how to incorporate this/these movements for strength gains in sprinters, etc? sets, reps, etc.
The coach suggest 3 sets of 7 sec holds. Rest as needed, but immediately followed by a high velocity exercise like a box jump.
