D90 performs well as a camcorder, but only used with tripod; otherwise you get that annoying jello effect. I'm just wondering if it's possible to remove it with some software.
About 2 months ago I couldn't agree with you more, it took a lot of convincing to change my mind, but the way the world is changing today, photographer's just arnt "good enough" without video according to a lot of clients. But I still agree for video work, camcorder is how it SHOULD be
Make sure you have AE-L ON before you start recording, this prevents the light readings altering and creating that annoying grading effect as you jump from light to dark
@gavindaysaccount Aaaawesome thanks for that - i was discussing this with my bro lastnight whether this was possible and i hadn't looked it up yet whether its possible and i just read this and went thru my d90 to see how i can lock it. Ive figured it out. Thanks for the tip. Wohooo.
This is my next Nikon (3 so far...awesome cameras!) From my research, I can tell you that you must use manual focus with the video mode. However, I believe you will come to enjoy the artful look of manual focus. You will also become more active with your video work. I am not sure about the exposure question, but I'm sure the info is out there. Now I'm curious, too!

Does auto focus works in videos? Can I control the exposure manually?

Much better than I expected. Is this person taking shots as they're taking a movie? Is that even possible?
