  • What Song Is That 2:01 - 2:06??

  • @tinkpixie87 O Holy Night

  • That C#5 in Joy Ride (@ 0:50) is fucking epic. That vibratto just lifts me off of the ground <3

  • WOW

  • SHE'S THE BEST FEMALE SINGER EVER! LOVE HER ♥

  • Ummm where is Subtle Invitation?!

  • I love Whitney's belts but her voice tends to thin out as she goes higher and higher...her F#5s aren't bad, they're very good, but they're kinda thin and not resonant at all. Now compare Whitney's F#5s to Mariah's F#5s, for example, in "If It's Over" @ SNL...I mean, there's no comparison possible! Mariah's F#5s are so fucking full, thick, strong and resonant...it truly amazes me how she's able to pull that shit off!

  • @MrCrackheadWise i do not kow how she does it either, lol me personaly my voice doesnt thin out until above f5 so i guess im like her in the betign spectrum, lol its somethig about the voice that i can not explain :/

  • I love her belts! She's probably got the best sounding belting voice I've ever heard. I LOVE me some Patti LaBelle (when it comes to belting, she's the Queen) but in terms of quality of tone and resonance, Mariah's belts are unmatched...she is able, or was anyway, to go up to G#5 while retaining her full tone...that's INCREDIBLE! I've never heard another singer able to do that...well, I've heard Patti pull it off a couple of times but still...Mariah's belting voice is truly remarkable!

  • How about anytime u need a friend.. ? there is a belting at the end..

  • hardest song of mariah (opinion)

    1. we belong together

    2. I stay in love

    3. o holy night

    4. if it's over

    5. against all odds

  • @labada098 without you and emotions...there's got to be a way...all in your mind...all of her songs will make your throat suffer and you'll be out of air

  • @labada098 But I think I stay in love is the hardest huhuhuh.. It's a killing song.. It is too low and it is too high..!

  • I didn't know A5 was higher than the other ones haha, is B5 higher than A5?

  • What's that song of the 2nd G#5?

  • what´s the song at 1:01?

  • @NYVALDDO if theres got to be a way

  • I really dunno why Mariah haters hate Mariah so much...

Maybe Mariah is a living legend and the haters are jealous about Mariah's singing techniques and her wide 5 octaves vocal range...

  • whats that song 1:48-1:53? Thanks

  • haha(: in circle's there is a harmonised A5 in there !

  • Whats the song at 1:34??????????

  • @popularlove circles !

  • @popularlove CIRCLE. it is in emancipation of Mimi album

  • Not very many in this clip but I love her G5's!!!

  • Whats the difference between the E5 and E#5??? and why do they put a 5 there anyway?

  • @ClarissaIsConfused There is no note called an E#5, its just an F5.. but for example an F#5 means that its half a note above F5.. and the five is to show which octave it is in on the piano

  • @genius3495 Thanks :)

  • what ist that at 2.17 ???

  • whats the name of the second to the last song?

  • @popularlove i only wanted. it is in charmbracelet album

  • The name of the first song?

  • Mine Again.

    Emancipation of Mimi.

  • @OoOpotterianoOoO mine again

  • Our boys from the g5 I was scared too much power is the voice mariah sang a note g # 5 live from The Emancipation of Mimi tour the songs were your girl, mine again, and stay the night came out higher than in studio was over, your video is wonderful

  • what is that at 1.55. That song sounds really good

  • To Be Around You

  • To Be Around You Emotions album

  • That C#5 in joyride is her best belted note idc what anyone says

  • Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What's the song at :50???

  • joyride - from the emancipation of mimi album

  • How is it possible that her voice sounds so hoarse(?) Even if she whistles. She is a good singer, but it makes me think that her voice is very powerless.

  • Whats the song of 1:08 ?

  • "mine again" frm the emancipation of mimi

  • Were you like trying to find the worst pics of her?

  • Mariah DEFINATELY has a voice. Whitney Houston doesn't have a vocal showcase in that octave but, by a smaller margin, I'd still have to give Whitney Houston the title for the better voice of the two.

  • i'm curious.....why? b/c WH has more soul or (seemingly) more control of her runs?

  • Oh.

  • Doesn't she hit a B5 in chest voice during "Vanishing" ?! During the end of the song, she says "swiftly"

  • The highest note she hits in that song is the 5th, which is an F sharp.

  • i dont know if she hit B5 in Vanishing. but when she sang "Swiftly" it sounded really high. in Want You, she hit and sustained A5 (with vibrato) from Glitter. also in Subtle Invitation (f5-f#5-g5-g#5-A5) "If you really need me". the note touches A5.

  • UBER GREAT

  • she's very impressive in doing those f5's...and actually all her belted notes are impressive..and what's the song in 2:35

  • what's the song at 2:31???

  • i only wanted

  • Many people thought that mariah is a coloratura soprano at first but it was said that she was only alto with expanded so much in her voice that makes him soprano... And do u believe an alto can hit those 6-8 octaves How incredible mariah is.She always do her best but I want to advice her that she needs to take care to her voice before her voice low notes to high notes may gone or decrease if she abuse it to much and pull those super high notes

  • I Love at .51 how she holds that note then gently adds in vibrato.

  • omg me too!

  • I love how a lot of her belts sounded like shes straining, but in a good way, if that makes sense? I know in recent years she's actually been straining, but back then it was like a nice, crisp, strain that sounded great even though it was a strain.

Haha, am I making any sense? To anybody? Please if anyone understands or agrees, reply :)

  • I agree...and the more she strain the more grace and emotions she shows...Very unique coz I never heard any artist who sang good in strain...Mariah strain, raspy, flawless ant etc still sounds great ^_^

  • i know like now its good but to much strain now a days it still sounds better than anybody but nat as good as when she was younger

  • You're so right! I totally get it.

  • Mariah's belted notes are sounding so strange :S Like very strain and soft or something :S I can't really explain what I mean, but maybe someone understand what I mean? Is there a special name for belts like hers? Sorry for my bad English ;)

  • MARIAH YOU'RE THE BEST !!!

  • shes a legend!

    and an amazing person

She has a sweet sounding voice and always will.

  • good to hear that, mine is her butterfly album and her musicbox...one thing i can say about her is, superb...One of the things i can not live without is her music...i truly love and adore this woman...her music inspires me a lot.

No heffa like you ain EVAAAAAHHHH gon break her down.

  • hey leave the world "faggot" out of this

we aint gotta bring gay people into this it aint nice

  • i totally agree with you... if you just compare the high notes from her old albums with the new one... the difference is unbelievable!

  • Nonsense, her natural ability, skill and vocal range are all still there. She's just having some problems with her chest voice (which she admits) and can be overcome with rest and practice.

  • To the wrinklesfag Mariah ain't over if you want go listen to the clit flasher Beyuckce.

  • Whats the song at 2:30?

  • What's the name of the song in 2:35?

  • Its called "I only wanted" and its on Charmbracelet

  • Thank u very much!

    *-*

  • so why do you even take the time to comment? Oh, can you sing better...Wrinkles!

  • Because she's MARIAH CAREY AND SHE IS A LEGEND DUMB SHIT!

  • she hits an A5 in circles (harmonized)

  • Technically All "belted" notes are basically screams that are controlled

  • i love her so much

    she is so talented!!

  • amazing..love it somuch..love her so much

  • Muito Bom

  • There is also A5 in You're so cold when she / I give you my HEART ... ;)

  • NO it is an E5 :)

  • If you want an A5 listen "There's Got to Be a Way" 3.43 :), this is the right note.

  • 'In There's got to be a way' there's only a G5.

  • in 'There's got to be a way' it's a G#5 even close to A5.

  • @RangeVocal G#5

  • @RangeVocal a G#5*

  • @RangeVocal na ah G#5

  • @RangeVocal

    Actually, it's a G#5.

  • oh no thats a g5 put pretty close and pretty impressive

  • @SupermarcoII

No, that's a G5. In the Emotions album, she didn't go above G5.

In the her debut album, she belted a few G#5 (There's Got To Be A Way, You Need Me, Alone In Love).

  • Very Good!!!!! Actually, awesome.

  • hohoho

  • can u plz make a brandy video

  • hola a todos jeje

  • So how many octaves?

  • @ExoticPearls

Her complete range, displayed so far, has been EXACTLY 5 octaves. She's gone as low as G#2 LIVE and G#7 LIVE although a vocal coach that apparently worked with her for some time claims she was able to reach C8, the very last note on the piano so who knows what her real range is. That we know and heard, it's 5 octaves, no more no less.

  • @MrCrackheadWise

Actually her complete range(Studio and Live) is E2 - G#7.

  • are you saying she disengages at a5 or just her recorded belted notes range untill a5?

  • Her hgihest recorded belted notes range from C5-A5, but she she can go upto G#7 in whistle.
