  • he has the sexiest look when he performs this song...or any song really

  • Motherfucker, I can't hit that high note he does near the end. >:

  • @MsNicochico but it is a tenor song, because I'm a tenor and I can sing this

  • if you wanna see an awesome cover of this song look up Andrew Paulson FDC Up With Show 2011 or just tyring looking up Friend De Coup!

It's amazing! and you won't regret it!

  • i need a monologue by tomm i just cant find one for this song

  • Anyone else super excited for Tveit to play Enjolras? Sexy character, great voice, I'm expecting spontaneous orgasms will ensue.

  • Hey guys i have been asked to sing this for a lesson at uni, i have little knowledge of the show, all i now is the basic plot, but im trying to work out why the chreter is siging this, who to etc, whats his motovations, any help?

    Cheers

  • I'm thinking about using this for an audition....

Would that be weird for a soprano? xD I'll probably move it up a bit

  • @dragonology5

I mean, you would need to transpose the key... check out musicnotes; you can download and print sheet music from musicals in different keys... it's a pay service, though.

  • @dragonology5 no becausin choir we sang this i am a soprano

  • @MsNicochico Did you sing the male part in soprano ? The male part is definitely tenor.

  • @TheLadyStig ik

  • I've only just discovered this song and this musical, I'm already LOVING it.

  • I wanna climb on your back Aaron.

  • (spoiler) I love how one of the best villain songs in fiction is sung by someone who doesn't technically exist.

  • apparently 16 people don't know the meaning of awesome.

  • i love this song so much

  • 15 dead people disliked this

  • I don't know but I can't hear Aaron's voice without feeling something good and crying!!!

  • I almost sound like him when I sing. LOL!

  • well this would be such an inappropriate funeral song .

  • @TheAaronKellyLover LAURA! FANCY MEETIN YOU HERE.

  • @XCeciliaShowX WHY ARE YOU HERE?

  • @TheAaronKellyLover because llamas. duh. jk i was stalking you on fb and i saw austin say somethin about ur comment so i looked and yesh. hi

  • @TheAaronKellyLover LOL i agree

  • the only version i have ever heard better than Alec Cohen, who played Gabriel at French Woods 2011 Amateur production of Next to Normal.

  • @gymbunny179 i saw it at fwf and i loved it.....i thought it was weird that they let junior- lodgers see it

  • to the 14 people who disliked this: you don't know, i know you don't know!

  • This is one of the many songs in this show I have to listen to only in private, to avoid the funny looks my parents give me when I start singing/lip synching. Such an awesome show.

  • This is my favority number in the entire show. Curt Hansen does a great version in the current North American tour as Gabe. The tour ends tomorrow night in Toronto. I caught a performance last week and am going back tonight for one more time. Alice Ripley's final performance - an outstanding actor. In fact the entire cast works so well together. Better than Billy Elliot it should of won the 2009 Tony for best musical.

  • Doing this song for show choir this year! Great song! Gonna be a good show! XD

  • WAY too addicted to this soundtrack.

  • hes like the perfect male speciman

  • Hi!

We started a new musical called "Sexting: The Musical." If you like this musical, you should check out ours! Please comment!

    <3 sextingthemusical

  • I have the biggest crush on Curt Hansen :$

  • i saw this musical and i wanted to cry every time gabriel came on stage. STAY AWAYYYYYYYY YOU MAKIN HER CRAZY BRO.

    but. this song is perfect.

  • No matter how upbeat this song is I get a pain in my heart when I hear it. It's so evil. Makes you truly feel for Diana.

  • This was in Chantilly High School's Touch of Class (yes, the touch of class that is America's Favorite Show Choir) Jazz & Pizzazz show. It was awesome!

  • I saw this in Chicago yesterday, I was on the edge of my seat the entire musical!! It was fantastic!! My initial thought when we left the theatre was, I've just fallen in love with that show!!! <3

  • @musicianforlife8295 This sounds stalker-ish, but I was there too, and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't believe I never got to see this. What is wrong with me? Aaron is god!<3

  • I just want you in my pants good sir!!!

  • I really want to see this danced to on So You Think You Can Dance. If anyone knows Mia Michaels....tell her

  • Aaron is my gorgeous husband.... if only. My God. I <3 him!!!

  • I honestly don't know how anyone could dislike this song...13 people? They must have missed the "Like" button. Seriously...

  • I love this musical. I saw it today, and it was great, despite the fact that the dude sitting next to me was passing gas. the entire show. The musical was super, though.

  • this musical is the reason "im alive"

  • 13 people sure as hell aren't alive

  • @MEGAMAN90210 now 14

  • a sexy song for a sexy singer-i love Aaron Tviet <3

  • Kyle Dean Massey does have killer vocals, but Aaron Tveit always seemed to give off more of a 'creepy' vibe that he used in the songs. It's like he wanted the audience to know who the REAL star is. Gabe seemed to know who was in control when he was played by Aaron. Although Kyle can do an amazing job, he'll never be Aaron. Brilliant.

  • "he is such a darling little creeper"

    lol <3 perfect

  • I love Aaron Tveit! I saw N2N tonight. The guy the played Gabe was named Kyle. I forget his last name but he was phenomenal as well. I love the show! The soundtrack is amazing

  • @britmento I saw it the same day as you. Haha :)

  • gabe is soooooo hot!

  • I.. have no words. <3 He's my favorite character.

  • even his voice is sexy...omg! i would marry him right now!!!!!! soooo hott!!!!!

  • i keep thinking of this song...in general...as a really sexy song. and it's actually a hard song in general (second only to My Time of Day from Guys and Dolls!), regardless of your range. it skips around everywhere. anyone who tries it has my respect. i love this song. :)

  • brilliance.

    aaron tveit is a god!

  • This song almost reminds me of voldemort after he killed Harry's Parents.

  • lol because nobody liked voldemort.@squee109

  • @squee109 Lmao.

  • @squee109 no offence but that is the weirdest reference ever!

  • aaron tveit is the hottest thing on this planet earth. cant wait to see him as roger in RENT at the hollywood bowl <3

  • I kinda like 'Feeling Electric' better as a title, but 'Next to Normal' is quite clever, because of the one line at the end of the play when Natalie says she can settle for a life that is "next to normal."

  • I loveee this. I want to see it!

  • I'm gonna be a senior next year... and I really wanna use this song for college auditions....( yes I can hit those high notes haha)... Good choice? Bad choice?... PLLLEEEEAAAASSEEE Reply!

  • @NYConnor hands down, AWESOME CHOICE.

  • @NYConnor This is a great choice! In my Intensive Musical Theater Camp they said this is a great male song for auditions! If you can do it I say go for it!

  • @NYConnor Im using it for my auditions, so yes its good :D

  • Aarron Tviet is awsome!

  • @mckinley93 - Who says you can't sing it if you're a girl? I mean, OK, he's a boy, but it doesn't mention that in the song at all :D

  • @therandomgirlie hahaha this is very true.. i meant to sing it in THIS key though.. people might find it strange.. ;D

  • Would this be a good audition song?

  • @huntermcmillian if you can hit all of the notes well, i think this would be an AWESOME audition! i would totally use this for an audition, except i'm a girl, so it'd be a bit weird.. strangely enough this song is in my belting range.. yes, i have the belting range of a man.. anyways, so to answer your question, yes!!!

  • @mckinley93 Thanks so much for the reply!!

  • I get so disappointed whenever this song ends... because it's over.

  • Next to Normal finally got what it deserves: the Pulitzer Prize. Nothing has ever deserved it more, this may be the greatest musical ever penned (and I've seen 'em all, over 700 shows). See it, especially while Alice is still in it, she's incredible.

  • just saw this and its now my favorite musical everrr

  • I'm so addicted to this musical. One of my favorite numbers!

  • hot as he is, I would be freaked if he haunted me like he does in this song... ahhhhh!!!

  • love this song!!!

  • I don't know why but when I'm in bad mode this song really lifts my spirits.

  • It hasn't?! I thought I heard that it closed in January. *headdesk*

My new project is now getting my mom to bring me. Is it set to close anytime soon? The dates are listed until June, but I can't find any announcements saying it'll close (still don't know why I thought it had closed in the first place).

  • No, Aaron left in January though, that might have confused you.

  • That might be it. Oh well, at least it's still there!

  • @WennIchTanzenWill by the way, to help your question Alice said last time I was at the stage door that she'll be staying till the summer, so I'm guessing that the shows not closing any time soon *knocks on wood*. Also I've heard news of a small national tour happening next year...

  • @devoutlyimmature Thanks. :D I feel so smart right now. *sarcasm* Ha ha.

Anyways, I've now got tickets to see it the Saturday after Easter. ♥ So, you stagedoored them? Do you know if they come out at matinees?

  • Well most of the guys do usually. J Robert Spencer, Adam Chandler-Berat, and Louis Hobson always seem to come out, even at matinees, but I haven't been to a matinee since November, so that might have changed. Kyle Dean Massey and Jennifer Damiano I'm not sure about (Jen came out at a matinee once when I was there, but she doesn't usually, so I think she just felt like getting some air) and Alice doesn't seem to come out at matinees, but maybe if it's warm and sunny she will...hope that helps!

  • @devoutlyimmature Thank you so much! That helps immensely! :D

Well, it might be a good day when I see it. *crosses fingers*

  • Revive this. RIGHT. NOW!

I didn't find out about this show until 2 days after it closed on Broadway. I was so mad! This seems like such an awesome show!

  • It's still on Broadway. Hasn't closed yet!

  • OMG Aaron Tveit created the Character of Gabe so well. His voice is phenominal, and his stage presence is shocking.

    <3 him!

  • aaron tveit has an absolutely insane voice. and he internalizes gabe so well.

  • i cant believe he left :'(

  • @blondedynamite95 i know :'( hes amazing

  • .,I love you aaron tveit!!!

  • yups.

  • @Byebyebaby4 HELL YEAH! Can't you tell by his incredible voice?!

  • @Byebyebaby4 yup it is

  • @Byebyebaby4 Read the description.

  • @itm426 yea I know. I asked that when I was just learning what the musical was about. I know that it's Aaron now. I love the muscial now.

  • @Byebyebaby4 yes it is.

  • Am I the only one who thinks that this song is sexy as hell?

  • @EveryDayALittleDeath yeah, no, you're not alone. :)

  • @EveryDayALittleDeath no your not...but if you read what the plays about this "sexy as hell so" becomes very sad-ish...

  • @HeresBillieTheKid

Oh I know. I've seen the show. Twice. Before and then after we found out that I'm bipolar. It was the most profound and moving thing I've seen in my life. and that was the FIRST time I saw it. Still, as a song, separate from the play, this is one hell of a sexy song

  • @EveryDayALittleDeath Why? Because he has a good voice? Or is it because the song has to do with torturing his mother and preventing her from being well?

  • @EveryDayALittleDeath Obviously not!

  • @EveryDayALittleDeath no...no you are not...

  • YOU SAW THE OBC *JEALOUS* I would have seen the OBC... but J. Robert Spencer was out...

  • Yeah! I couldn't believe it! first time going to Broadway and I saw a bunch of people I admired and an OBC! HELL YES!!!

  • I saw this saturday also. I saw the 8 O'Clock show. It was Amazing.

  • i saw this saturday night it was Ahhmazing!

  • quick question: Is the actor who plays the son, also a character in Gossip Girl, because I recognize him ?

either way, he is incredibly talented !

  • yep he plays tripp vanderbilt or something like that on gossip girl

  • @MadTvLove09 yes, he is.

  • The note he hits at the end is a G

  • @SweetAntigone yes, it is a G, I checked it on a tuner loll

  • I want to say it's an A.

  • when i saw this, gabe was dancing on the top level, hanging onto poles and stuff, and his leg slipped off and he dipped down. it looked so cool but at intermission, someone who had seen it before told me that wasn't supposed to happen and that he just fell and recovered really well

  • oh my god we might have been at the same show, (unless you havent seen it recently) because when he dipped he went to far and he almost fell off!!!

  • i saw it last weekend. i just got back from new york city on sunday. when did you see it? did you think it was as amazing as i did?

  • I saw it Saturday at 2...whenever the matinee was

  • whoa i did too. was it near ragtime and jersey boys? and across from the marriot?

  • ummm I don't really remember XD I remember that there was a hotel across from the place, because we stopped there for a rest-stop before the show.

  • was it snowing when you came out? cuz i think we were in the same show

  • oh my god I think we were! IT WAS SNOWING! :D Okay, this was the ultimate test: Which character was played by an understudy in your show?

  • fuk i wanna c dis one lmao !!!!

  • i looove this song! i'm a huge broadway music fan even tho i've only seen one show on broadway (it wuz Wicked) but i hope to see many more one day especially this one!

  • ahh you totally should! i just saw it tonight and it was compleeeetely worth it! soooo good<3

  • Im very much considering buying the soundtrack even though i sadly never have seen the musical and problably never will : (

  • @xLunde saaaaaammme... except... I dont have the money. :(

  • Buy it. It's 100% worth it.

  • you're not the only one

  • Please buy it. I took a chance on it and it's brilliant... some of the music takes some getting used to with the style, but it's really amazing. This song is addicting.

  • doing this song for competition in may! Trust me, he makes those high notes sound easy to do. They are NOT! But a fun song to sing

  • I want this song to be longer!!! Its just so AMAZING!

  • videocupcake...use this song!!! dancing through life has other people in it...this one will show off your voice and it's soo great!

  • should i use this as an audition song, or dancing through life from wicked??

  • @VideoCupcake This song... Dancing through life is a big group number... this is a solo... makes things easier!

  • also, dancing through life, just like every other song from wicked, is WAY overdone. This is a better bet for sure.

  • sing this!!! do it for the ones who don't have the range!!! i would kill to be able to sing this....sometimes i hate being a bassy baritone! :(

  • lol, i loooove being a tenor :D

  • tis a very smexy voice part.....

    *wanders off cursing expletives*

  • this kid in my school sang this song today in choir for solo day and he sounded JUST like aaron tveit!!! but anyway, great song!!!! thanks for uploading!!!!

  • "he's such a darling little creeper" haha! I just saw this yesterday. it was amazing! and this was my favorite song(:

  • THANKS!!!!!!!!!

  • psychickiwibird, I did the same thing as you. Me and my sister would listen to the bootleg versions of "Feeling Electric." I always dreamed that ut would make it to Broadway and it has!!

  • Awesome. ^^ My uncles are responsible for showing us this musical. They live in Chicago and make frequent trips to NYC. They discovered this musical when it was still in its workshop days...and then told my family about it. XD I'm glad that they did.

  • @psychickiwibird it started at the village theater in issaquah, washington and moved to some other places to be worked on. i'm in a broadway now playing course at the same theater, we're singing "im alive" :)

  • @lifelovebeatles wait feeling electric is in the broadway version really i love that song and was heartbroken when it wasent on the cd

  • ;D I thought so. -cackles- Silly little creeper Gabriel... >>

  • @psychickiwibird Silly little beautiful creeper Gabe <3
