  • Got news for ya. He's no "Country" drummer. Rich studied at the infamous University of North Texas under Ed Soph, one of the finest and toughest drum teachers on the planet as did my son, Shea who also plays a lot of Country.

  • im a drummer, and i know there is no such thing as country drumming. every single country song you show me i can tell you, its either swing, jazz, funk, or in Rich's case, ROCK. maybe even something diffrent. but there is no country drumming. country is my favorite though!

  • @michaelthe13th wrong.

ronnie tutt is one of the greatest "country drummers" ever to have lived. go listen to the Gram Parsons album Grievous Angel.

or, almost anything Kenny Buttrey played on. Yeah, there are a lot of other drumming styles in most country music, but there is definitely such a thing as country drumming.

  • @gabrielpearson umm buddy, Ronnie Tutt definitly played swing with elvis and some jazz. lol. same for Kenny.......

  • @michaelthe13th Dude, you're so wise. How could I be so foolish. I forgot that, every time i play a train beat, I get the feeling that I'm on the Lawrence Welk show, except it's totally weird because it's like it's with Black Sabbath.

Maybe you should stick to covering A day to remember, and leave the real shit to the rest of us.

  • @gabrielpearson haha

1 once again a train beat is swing. lmao. and yes i like a day to remember but i also like jason aldean, i like frank sinatra, i like george jones, patsy cline, hank sr, elvis, carl perkins, gene vincent. i like everything. be smart! there is country drummers. but they play rock beats, swing, shuffles, jazz funk. studdy up, bitch.

  • @michaelthe13th Last I checked, there was more than one way to play a train beat. Just because you can "swing" something doesn't make it a "swing" beat.

    ...and it's spelled, "study."

  • @gabrielpearson lmao, my question is, show me "country drumming". not swing, jazz, funk, rock. just country. and btw, RICH ROCKS!!!!!!

  • Also, please show me ANYWHERE that a train beat is used in swing, jazz, bop, big band, etc. You could find it in western swing...but that's a type of country music. The point that I'm trying to make is that there are indeed drumming patterns that are particular to only country music. I agree that a lot of it is, like you said, funk, jazz, rock, etc., but to say that "there's no such thing as country drumming" is ignorant. But what would I know? I only play that shit for a living.

  • Dime a dozen player. pocket my rocket--BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow this guy is great!

  • hahahaha, I love Richie.. !!!!!!!!!!

  • Not a bad solo, but the material after about 1:38 could've more original. Still, props for a country drummer.

  • Yeah, well he focuses more on being an entertainer rather than an innovator. He succeeds well at it too.... not to mention his pocket is deeeeeep

  • @factorone Props for a "Country" drummer?? I hate to tell you but most Session/Touring drummers in Nashville and LA are with country acts..Drummers in country music today are hands down the best out there of any genre..Go and try to play some country music..you will see!

  • @Localdrummerweb Most of your rock drummers are playing country now. That's where the money is. A rock drummer playing country is far better than a country drummer playing either rock or country.

  • @factorone Let me rephrase that..Most GREAT session/touring drummers in Nashville/LA are with country acts lol

  • awesome

    5/5
