@Smikeok1965 I know, I'm like starting to wonder if anyone remembers Morrison's real voice & passionate vocals. There's NO question in my mind that this is Morrison, no one can sing like him is right, ergo, this is him. If anyone looks up any of his music & plays this they can clearly hear it's his voice. Thanks for commenting back. :)
I've been a Doors collector for many years (I'm 54 years old), and I've never heard a peep about this vocal. I suspect a Jim-imitator was involved. Still, sounds good and I love Monster Magnet.
@spurlock13 His estate did not release quite a bit of work that had been in progress. Because the vocals had been written but not the music for them, this was never used. Monster Magnet bought the rights to use it with their own interpretation of the music that would have gone well with it, but in MM's own style as well. Anyway, it's Morrison. Besides which I've never heard an imitator that could get close to Morrison's vocals or unique sound.
@SeniorConcha It IS Morrison, there's no question of that, it's from his work prior to his death, some vocals he was working on to release but never got the chance. Only recently was anyone able to get the unreleased vocals for use. Anyone who knows Morrison knows this IS him, no question. Try going back to listen to some of his vocals in the Doors. The music is NOT the Doors here, only the vocals are by Morrison, the rest is Monster Magnet.
@gmj2012 can you tell us what works you mean?, im a hardcore fan and i know ALL his proyects, or myb u can tell the recorders, ppl around the proyect, hope this was a Morrison recorder, but sorry dude, this is not, just listen to the falsete voice in the 4 first words, send this video to some DOORS staff person and you can test this...
@siuaiseo Try telling the record label that, and youtube, since the rights to this are assigned to Morrison and Monster Magnet, and wouldn't be in question if not for the ownership originating with both named artists here. Surprises me so few people know Morrison's sound these days. I've been a fan over 30 years now & I knew his voice as soon as I heard it. Surprises me that anyone would even question that, for I sure don't, I know better :)
@Smikeok1965 Oh yes, no question about his voice, lol. I never knew he had done unreleased vocal tracks. Wonder what music was in his head as he was singing these vocals? i think MM did an awesome job interpreting what Morrison was singing to, since he didn't have music for it, just the vocals. Monster Magnet made the music up to go with it in Morrison's style. Someone else thought it was too hard rock for Morrison, they must not know his work well, lol.
@Smikeok1965 Thanks so much! I appreciate any feedback, respect opinions, good or bad. I just loved the song & it wasn't available anywhere, so I begged a friend to make the video for it :) He's better at visuals than me, more patience for editing & trimming than I have too. I just helped with the technical aspects mostly.
@gmj2012 I know who it is now, and he was the one who thought this was too heavy R&R for Morrison, lol. If Morrison were alive today, this is exactly the kind of music he'd be making (music part is MM, only vocals here are Morrison;s).
