Actual "science" was not properly carried out until at the very earliest Galelio, and done in the mainstream during the Age of Enlightenment. Actual science involves something called the scientific process.
Why is it called the Age of "Enlightenment"? Because this is the time when people starting questioning religion, thru proper scientific methods.

Regardless, the truest religions are those practiced as quietly as possible. Any large, loud, and organized religions become nothing but a hierarchy to further polarized politics and to justify immorality with promises to the followers.

Before there were religions, the idea of evil did not exist, but with the ideas of "Sin" and "God" and "Afterlife" came the idea of Evil. Evil is, after all, that which is contrary to whichever religion is making the rules. As Religion gave birth to the idea of "evil" you can correctly claim that religion is the root of it. Personally, I don't believe in evil.

Even murdering children isn't always evil, as is cited by many cultures that practiced such sacrifices, and honored both the families and children who were killed. This general idea that something can be "always wrong" is "always wrong", because nothing applies to everyone.

In Science, no theory or idea is accepted without enough proof or evidence to prove it.
So even if there is no evidence that proves an idea wrong, it is still not accepted unless there is evidence that proves that it is right.
So the same theory applies to religion. Until someone provides proof of their fairytales, I refuse to believe them.
