@dogus194 At the time the video was taken he was only about 5.5 weeks old. He's now about a year and half old.
With most baby birds that are still on formula, they will beg for food any time they see a person. Normally, they wouldn't do this to people, they'd be doing that to mom/dad. It's a survival mechanism... "He who gets the most food has the higher chance of survival."
@nezumi102 Oh where can i get the baby formula food for cockatiels? because mine are 5week and 7week old now and both are eating normal cockatiel seeds and i was told they're too young to be sold from the shop. They don't beg me for food like the bird in the video i kind of nag them to eat especially the 5week old one because that one didn't eat for one whole day before i just hold the food in my hand and tap it to eat then it does it :)
@nezumi102 A good website is justcockatiels(.)weebly(.)com/ She bred cockatiels for years, and is really quite knowledgeable. Her website is also very informative. To get to the website just take out the parenthesis in the address I put in here. Youtube wouldn't let me post the website.
@dogus194 Oh woops never mind it's around 6weeks old. Right i have two cockatiels that i bought and there 4 weeks old and one is 6weeks old but i found out that they are really young to be out for selling and still require there parents but my cockatiels are doing quiet well now they eat normal cockatiel seeds however the 4week old one didn't eat of the pot when i first got them so i hand fed him by tapping on my hand and it used to eat. i really want the best for these birds please help :)
@dogus194 Usually you can purchase some at pet supply stores like PetCo, Pet Supermarket or Petsmart. However, I would look and see if you have a parrot store. They'll usually have it and they can also teach you how to hand feed. However, if they're both eating solid food at this point and aren't losing weight, then most likely they're doing alright. The woman who runs the website bred cockatiels for many years.
@nezumi102 which website? and the two cockatiels do eat solid food meaning the seeds i suppose? however the 5week old one sometimes don't eat of the pot so i give it from my hand or put it in between my lips and he/she eats from there. I ordered a new cage it's really big and much more space then the current one i have and hopefully it'll stop them from having small fights i suppose :)
@prasant940 We actually purchased him when he was only about two weeks old. We left him with the breeder until he was about 10 weeks old to allow him to be fed and weaned properly.
did you give food to the bird then?

@dogus194 Nope. He'd just eaten and his crop was full. Too much food isn't good for these guys as it can cause an impaction in the crop.

@nezumi102 Oh, but if it has eaten why does it still beg for food? How old is your bird the one in the video?
