ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS?!?! Please give me your nexus and I will give you my HD2. The HD2 blows. I have Gingerbread on it but I still don't like it. I am actually buying a nexus one, I consider it an upgrade. 6.5 is horrifically slow and unresponsive. And I know how to use it.....as a door stopper. Nexus one here I come.

The photo gallery and music player on the HD2 are the best on any phone ever. MS Office Mobile apps are native (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), as is an Adobe PDF reader that works beautifully. The YouTube app on the HD2 sucks balls, though. You can't even sync with your account...wtf?? Need to overhaul that one. Otherwise, my HD2 is rock solid and with Cookie's Hometab Editor it is just amazing. The Nexus looks like a cheapola prepaid phone IMHO.

Anyone with half a brain can customise WinMo with almost infinite possibilities. Windows mobile is MUCH more customisable than Android, provided the user is not a total moron. I don't watch many phonedog reviews so I don't know who this 'Noah' guy is but I say bring him back...he's gotta be better than this guy.

windows mobile is not for the technically challenged. most people get frustrated with the many settings, modifications, and registry edits available to the user. hence the verbal attack on something that they do not understand. This is why WM will always be around. This does not make it better or worse, all it means is that it is more customizable to those who get it.
maybe someone can help me out here. i wanted a phone with a physical keyboard but that is out of the question because the touch pro2 is old technology now. i will use the phone to do heavy web browsing since these devices are like computers now. i do text alot and the hd2 has the n1 beat on that. i will also be using the phone as a music device since i do not own an mp3 player and the hd2 has a better media player. i currently own a shadow, lol i need a new phone phone.
I just upgraded from a Shadow (loved it) to an HD2 and the phone is incredible. The fact that the screen takes up pretty much the entire front of the phone makes it extremely attractive and, although it runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro, I'm still really pleased with it so far. It has all the services I need, multitouch is great and video looks amazing. I suggest it.
well, my wifi connected in a few seconds after i entered my wep. maybe your office doesn't trust you and has a wep. don't be fooled by this guy. settings are pretty simple, in fact when you get to the settings you have a a short summary of what you can change under that tab. it's really not that hard, even my 7 year old brother had my hd2 figured out in about 10 minutes *hint hint*
One question. How did you get on phonedog? I never knew they choose such bad reviewers. You can't review phones and be biased, because viewers just want to see the phone, not you fucking damn voice complaining. @Vova37 the hd2 is a great phone; i might end up getting one since i lost my g1 yesterday. i really love android, but if android idk, died or something, winmo would be my second choice without a doubt. i'm a big n1/android fan, but i'm definitely not counting out the hd2 and winmo.

@Targetf yeah, but Windows Mobile takes up more space than Android OS. Because Windows Mobile has a lot of content, and android is a bit lighter. That's also why the iPhone runs so fast even on such a slow processor. Because the iOS itself is barely 2GB or 1GB overall, because it doesn't have a lot of features. That's why they need a 1ghz processor for the iPhone4, because it offers a bit more.
@Tazy50 What you stated about the iPhone 4 is incorrect. The iPhone does not have lots of functionality, it just has lots of graphical eyecandy that runs off the gpu and cpu. The 1ghz is mainly for apps.

I agree that this guy should have kept his personal views out of this, I wouldn't say that he's an Android fan boy as much as he's just anti Winmo. I've always liked Android myself but I am liking my HD2 so much that I can forget about some of Winmo short comings. There's plenty of apps, I really don't need 100's or 1000's of apps on my phone, and some of the premiere apps are available across all platforms. I am loving my HD2 very much.

@MehStang Windows Phone 7 won't come to HTC HD2. Ever. Unless it gets ported but it's not going to be supported by Windows because it has too many buttons and doesn't have features necessary to be a WP7 device.
At everyone saying he is just dissing WM, He is doing so because WM sucks horribly... I actually bought this phone only because of the potential to upgrade it to WP7 when the rom is hacked.... I'm actually excited about WP7 but WM 6.5 = an embarrassing fail for M$ Sense does it best to make it useful but it can only do so much...
Thanks for the video it was very helpful. I'm torn between the HD 2 and the Desire... (which burns the N1) but i'm leaning on the side of Android because M$ is going to ditch WinMo6.5 later this year. Knowing that there is going to be no real future fot it after Windows Phone 7 comes out kinds turns me off.

I Hate to tell you something I didnt like that he dissed the HTC Hd2 either But I hae just finished using the hd2 and I didnt care for it. There is not enough apps. It is not user friendly. I've tried both phones myself and I was a die hard windows mobile fan, but I have to admit that android is a nice change of pace. The whole point of WinMob 6.5 was to allow custom skins, so different mobile manufacturers can make their phones unique while maintaining software compatibility. You can disable the custom skins and use the Windows mobile 6.5 UI, which is a basic vertical menu similar to the Zune HD UI.

@GkiD1990 Are you deaf? He gave props to the HD2 on numerous occassions. Yes he admitted to being somewhat bias in favor of the Android and he isn't fully impartial, but I thought he gave a very unbias review of both phones and in the end, left the viewer with their own opinion to form.

HTC HD2 destroys the Nexus. Android has a long way to go to become anywhere near as functional and customizable as WinMobile. HD2 has massively high performance video games and every business application you could imagine. The one thing on both phones I don't like is a lack of physical keyboard but the Windows Mobile keyboard is way better than the Android. You virtually cannot make mistakes on the Windows mobile keyboard it's so well done. Run 12 aps on the HD2 as smooth as 1 on the Android
I have the hd2 and I love it more than I can ever imagine. However on the other hand, I still feel that win mobile needs to work a lot more on fixing up bugs or whatever that causes my applications to crash. I heard a rumor that the hd2 can be installed with android, correct me if i'm wong. I feel the android is a much more popular o.s in the market right now in terms of stability.

@Vova37 the hd2 is a great phone; i might end up getting one since i lost my g1 yesterday. i really love android, but if android idk, died or something, winmo would be my second choice without a doubt. i'm a big n1/android fan, but i'm definitely not counting out the hd2 and winmo.

Let's put the best custom ROM on the HD2 and the best on the N1, since we know stock WinMo w/ Sense isn't all that great performance wise and we'll see how FroYo tears WinMo down.

@cheddarpopcorn188 Your opinion is invalid until you tell us WHY you think the HD2 is better. You do know XDA has it's own dedicated Android Sub-Forum, right? People are going out of their way to put Android on the HD2.
HD2 has almost identical hardware than the Nexus One so I don't see where you say the phone is better.
WinMo is dead. Windows PHONE however is making a noble attempt to take back the smart phone world. I Don't see ANYONE beating Android.

EXAMPLE: Even though the Nexus One and HD2 have almost identical hardware, The Nexus One is a better phone on Android when the HD2 is on WinMo.

The EVO 4G is 720p capable as is the Nexus One.
The EVO 4G is 4G capable and the Nexus One is HSPA+ capable.
We can talk about hardware all we want but hardware is useless without software and vice versa.
Android best takes advantage of everything the hardware has.
Don't forget this is an OS fight not a phone fight. I never said the HD2 sucked, I said WinMo sucked, hard.

@Targetf yeah, but Windows Mobile takes up more space than Android OS. Because Windows Mobile has a lot of content, and android is a bit lighter. That's also why the iPhone runs so fast even on such a slow processor. Because the iOS itself is barely 2GB or 1GB overall, because it doesn't have a lot of features. That's why they need a 1ghz processor for the iPhone4, because it offers a bit more.

A friend got a HD2 on contract a few days later I received an HTC Desire, the next day my friend sent his HD2 back and exchanged it for a Desire.
Nuff said really, Winmo is to restrictive not to mention alarmingly convoluted in its layout.

I agree that this guy should have kept his personal views out of this, I wouldn't say that he's an Android fan boy as much as he's just anti Winmo. I've always liked Android myself but I am liking my HD2 so much that I can forget about some of Winmo short comings. There's plenty of apps, I really don't need 100's or 1000's of apps on my phone, and some of the premiere apps are available across all platforms. I am loving my HD2 very much.

Thanks for the video it was very helpful. I'm torn between the HD 2 and the Desire... (which burns the N1) but i'm leaning on the side of Android because M$ is going to ditch WinMo6.5 later this year. Knowing that there is going to be no real future fot it after Windows Phone 7 comes out kinds turns me off.

I Hate to tell you something I didnt like that he dissed the HTC Hd2 either But I hae just finished using the hd2 and I didnt care for it. There is not enough apps. It is not user friendly. The HD2 always gets glitches. I have The Nexus One now and the Nexus is better by far. I have had the My touch, the Cliq, Behold 2 and HD2. Andorid operating system is alot better. Nexus Has more and better apps. I do reviews all the time for Cell Phones and Im not biased. It is Just not user friendly!

I've tried both phones myself and I was a die hard windows mobile fan, but I have to admit that android is a nice change of pace. I decided to stick with the Nexus One because in my opinion it is a better phone. I also noticed some issues with windows mobile that have always existed and still have yet to be corrected.

The whole point of WinMob 6.5 was to allow custom skins, so different mobile manufacturers can make their phones unique while maintaining software compatibility. You can disable the custom skins and use the Windows mobile 6.5 UI, which is a basic vertical menu similar to the Zune HD UI.

@GkiD1990 Are you deaf? He gave props to the HD2 on numerous occassions. Yes he admitted to being somewhat bias in favor of the Android and he isn't fully impartial, but I thought he gave a very unbias review of both phones and in the end, left the viewer with their own opinion to form.

lol i've stayed true with wm, but i think its abit too techy for average joes. he's right about that. If it wasn't for the htc sense, wm would be a hell lot uglier by default (no shell customisations). hopefully wm7 comes out soon!

HTC HD2 destroys the Nexus. Android has a long way to go to become anywhere near as functional and customizable as WinMobile. HD2 has massively high performance video games and every business application you could imagine. The one thing on both phones I don't like is a lack of physical keyboard but the Windows Mobile keyboard is way better than the Android. You virtually cannot make mistakes on the Windows mobile keyboard it's so well done. Run 12 aps on the HD2 as smooth as 1 on the Android

I have the hd2 and I love it more than I can ever imagine. However on the other hand, I still feel that win mobile needs to work a lot more on fixing up bugs or whatever that causes my applications to crash. I heard a rumor that the hd2 can be installed with android, correct me if i'm wong. I feel the android is a much more popular o.s in the market right now in terms of stability.
