The base may have fallen, but nobody expected Sub Zero to not actually be dead. He single-handedly saved the X-COM base with his bare hands, ripping Ethereals a new one...and just when they thought they had him pinned in a corner, BAM! Hugo suplexed the punks for HUMANITY!

After the battle ended, they restaffed the base, continued their research, and provided humanity with the keys to defeat the alien menace...

In their honor, they made the base Sub Hope, a monument against all invaders.

So this starts literally 2 seconds after X-COM 1 after you've seiged the alian base and FINALLY won they blindfire a space laser into the water waking up their friends who would of completely NOT have been an asset before? nice job alians... you can mind impant and genetically engineer but tactics is millions of years of evolution away ^_^

Because the existing one is in a terrible place. Enemies spawn in them when they attack your base so you ideally want all the sub pens in one area with a small bottleneck leading into your base. That way you don't have to split your guys to face a three pronged attack.

Ya know ive played the game so far on the expirienced difficulty and i can say is that....torpedo launchers are (as long as your under water ) one of the more reliable weapons in the game . Managed to get quite a few kills with it

for all of you who play the advise not to face the TFTD- reseach-bug:

1)catch a dead AND a alive deep one

2)research first the dead one, then the unlocked plastic armor

3)research the ALIVE deep one, then you can research iron and magnetic armour

3)when your able to research MC LAB make sure you have MC reader captured in storage, otherwise you cant research the device to panic/control aliens and the MC shield for the base

Good luck with pacific challenge, seems it would be quite entertaining LP! Just curious, which version of TFTD you play? 1.x, 2.0, 2.1 beta? The 2.1 beta is very hard to find unless you play some new steam/gamers gate version - heard that beta solves most annoying research tree bugs, as far as I tested no more "locks&blocks" from wrong research order :)...

Good luck, Kiko - you're gonna need it. Especially since the tech tree is so unforgiving - to get armor at all, you need a Deep One corpse...the equivalent of getting a Celatid, since Deep Ones only show up on island and port terror missions and Gillmen terror ships...and to get the equivalent of Plasma Cannons, you need to research all the Sonics.

Plus, the restrictions on heavy weapons are BRUTAL - you have exactly ONE HWP early on that works on land, and the Heavy Cannon equivalent is your only squad weapon that works on land...and it's NOT that good.
