They are very fragile creatures, the largest burrowing clam in the world!

They are called "Elephant Trunk Clams" in Chinese I believe. Very cool animals.

You want to keep them alive as long as possible, gently stacking and always having a flow of fresh seawater over them.

The longer they survive the more value they get from Asian markets.
