HAHA, I love the compliant about cops using technology from the person sitting at their computer watching YouTube videos. What a hoot. Like only xxtimstewartxx should have technology. OK, take every PC out of every workplace. I don't want you sitting around using technology. Get out that pencil and paper and WORK for a living. What the hell is the problem with you people? Cops have been running your plates for decades. Whatever it is that you're doing that makes you paranoid, stop it!
Ever watch "Parking Wars" on A&E? They use similar technology to get hits on parking violations. As long as you're not doing anything wrong and your stickers are up to date, there's not much to worry about...
But it does still take a job away from a cop or parking enforcement employee.
i'm sorry but id rather have a cop work for my tax dollars, now sit around and use technology like that, it's bad enough there's a red light camera at every intersection in suffolk county ..... not that i totally oppose it, but still wtf man
BIG BOTHER AGAIN " F**KING NAZIS OR THE NEW GESTAPO all this is for lazy police officers that dont wanna get off there butts.police work. But us tax payers paying for there laziness and they just drive around all day sitting on there asses.

To all of you with negative comments, keep your vehicles insured and registered and don't drive with a suspended license and you have nothing to worry about.I'm sure you'd feel different if it were your car that was stolen and the cops were able to catch and arrest the slimeball.
don't fear these government losers, just get smarter than them,I have ways to defeat cameras, but i can't tell you.i just learned of this method, now i must plan some things.Luckily not all states have front and rear plates.
whatta bunch of shit. as soon as criminals get wind of this they will ditch cars faster, but they won't use it for this they will just use it to harass restricted drivers like me, what an invasion of my privacy
I wouldn't care if they scanned my tag and as soon as they found out I was ok purged the data from the computer. But storing it is a different issue all together. By storing the data it is a violation of my privacy.
Violation of privacy? Police have been running vehicle plates on a daily basis for many many years now. The information about your vehicle is stored in the Ministry of Transportation records when you register your vehicle. That info is available to police and other agencies 24-7. This is just a larger , faster scale of what is already happening. Besides why do you think you have a licence plate on your car anyhow, if the info is so private.
Its not the tag its tracking the location they scanned it at. Thats why I said I wouldn't care if they didn't store the data. But keeping a database on where my plate was scanned is a violation of my privacy.
How long is it going to be before these scanners are installed at stop lights?
A for effort ksbsn88, but your un-plated vehicle would qualify as an abandoned vehicle. Not only is it a violation under provincial statute, but there are numerous by-law tickets you can get. As for your no-tow theory, your vehicle can be flat-bedded or if necessary a heavy tow. Since its un-plated you would not only get stuck with the numerous tickets your would also have to pay for the expensive heavy-tow and the subsequent impound fees until you vehicle is identified and claimed.
down at the beach i take my plate off and cover my vin when i park in no parking zones and cops can't tow me cause i have a lifted truck with 37s and the hubs locked in and in 4lo they can't put on a boot cause my tires are 15in wide and can't ticket me since i have no plate and my vin isn't visable hahaha fuck the police, and if they do manage to get a boot on my truck i have a air compressor on board with a air grinder and a cutoff wheel
you sorry, ignorant tool fuck you don't care cuz you just ain't been caught yet you'll care when the laws are made that impose on what you don't think should be illegal and inconvienence you, stop them now while we still have some rights of our own
Privacy is a thing of the past. Welcome to the era of omnipotent, omniscient government. Governments killed around 170 million of their own people in the 20th century, not including all the government wars. But perhaps something has changed now, and it will be wonderful having a government that dictates and controls every aspect of our existence.
Until your daughter or son is taken and the human factor of not being able to observe and enter any vehicle plates into a database to check its status.
This can be beat. Like everything else. Remember few years back when they started making everyone get new plates? Yea they were 5 times more reflective. ya know what they Dont want you to know is that the cam is Infered that finds the plate to take the photo. the other cam shoots the photo. the infered reflection is what triggers it. There is stuff you can get to take all the reflectivity out. and loovers help too. But I dont dont have a front plate. and i have a rear flipper :P
There are satellites that can read brain waves and we are all "concerned" with a cop with a toy.
I would imagine that a shiny white license plate sized bumper sticker on each side of the plate would confuse the OCR. I doubt it can scan 3 plates per car, or distinguish the difference between them.
Chicago is getting lazy and installing wireless cameras. It's not hard to tell the frequency based on the antenna element length. They will be easily jammed, as are the RFID scanners.
We are throwing it all away in a little over 200 years since our independence was fought for by far braver men then we have today.
All of this technology will be used for control and tyranny as it always has. It is sickening and it is totally unconscionable, yet it is being erected all around us. The American people are cheering it on and those that work in these industries are selling out their neighbors and country to this predatory police state.
This is a cage, a prison being erected around us and sold as security. It is a huge Lie!
Of course there will be those feeble minded zombies who have bought into the propaganda that "this is all good and you shouldn't have a problem as long as you have nothing to hide!"
This is blasphemy to our nation's founding principles and the honor of our founders who fought tyranny and control.
Every time it does a scan it investigates an innocent person, as far as I'm concerned there is no probable cause. This is a violation of law, soon we won't be able to leave the house without being scanned by something.
So what you're saying is you think that cops have time to memorize every stolen car description and then look for them all? How many not-stolen cars match those descriptions? The only people who don't want to be on camera are those who have something to hide.
So the only Americans who would give up their privacy are those who have something to hide? That's the worst argument ever. I have nothing to hide but still want to be treated like a human being! Not scanned everywhere I go.
Thats right! Theyre trying to tell us that we who dont want to be SPIED on are in the minority and/or suggesting that we have something to hide. This argument is used to try to manipulate us to go along w/them. The onlky people who r ok w/this are those who wld be "behind the camera" so to speak. They naively think they'll be safe coz theyre on the side thats winning/ the side that has the power. It'll be fun to see the look on their faces when they find out theyre wrong.
Vinny, Vinny, Vinny... where did the Americans come into this? This is the Vancouver area buddy. That aside, you and your buddies still make no sense about being "scanned". If you're out there you're either being observed by humans or electronics, what's the difference?
But dont u understand that it wont only be used for stolen cars? Dont u know that technology has a way of taking over, spreading out and being misused by scum?
How is "scum" going to use this technology? Steal it and hack into the police databases and use it find cars that aren't stolen so they can steal them? Haha!
Go draw your lines, Vinny, I hear there's a sale on crayons at the store down the street.
Your's is the classic response of a person who doesnt know the history of these matters. These technologies r always presented as being beneficial and innocent.
Do u actually believe that all w/access 2 this info/power have integrity? Ever hear of bad cops or power-hungry politicians? We have a right 2 go about our business without some arrogant slob watching us on a monitor or having access to our personal information. Maybe yr 1 of them so u think it will never affect u? Youre wrong.
It has nothing to do with the use of technology. The real issue is that law enforcement is investigating people without cause. They shouldn't be wasting my tax dollars investigating 3000 random plates every hour.
Big brother coming to a parking lot near you...and this is all good huh? Remember, whats the big deal if you aren't doing anything wrong? Cops are scum of the earth!!!
