For learning the piece, I would recommend the video by Darshada. Have you seen it? It is excellent and uses a good angle for observing fingering.
Actually, I first learned this piece by playing the left hand 5 3 2 1 2 4. If you can believe, I tried to learn it that way for a long time. Finally I decided to use what I saw on Darshada's video, and I was surprised to discover I could learn that 2nd-finger crossover in relatively little time.
Thanks for telling me about the game. I had a very very brief play with EVE but thought it was too complicated. I just wanted to fly around and shoot at things and I couldn't even move an inch!! so I delete it.
I see if Final Fanasy appears in the Apple Store (yes I'm a Mac user) and check out what it says about it.
Hey Tom!! You're really going for it, I love it! Great to see and hear you play so fluently. What is his final fantasy? am I right in thinking it is a bit like World of Warcraft? I played WOW for a while! BTW I haven't seen you on this piano, it sounds nice, I hope to hear more from you and this piano soon. I'm working on a new piece myself, by York Bowen. York Bowen was Professor of the Royal Academy of Music for 50 years! so it's VERY serious music lol!
Thank you for the very interesting comment. Really you're very kind. Yes, this game was released around the same time as WOW and is the same kind of online game. A lot of folks my age and younger grew up playing the (single-player-only) Final Fantasy games, and so when FFXI came out it drew a lot of attention. If you enjoyed WOW, you might want to keep any eye out for the next Final Fantasy online game, to be released late this year.
@weestro7 Disappointingly, it turns out that FFXIV is not a good game, at least at this time. Maybe later they will improve the game via patches so that it approaches the greatness of FFXI. However, I must say that as a big fan of Uematsu, the composer, his work in FFXIV does not nearly approach his best.
wow, your technique has improved light years!

I just started to play it myself. =) Do you play the first variation of the left hand with the fingers: 5 2 1 2 1 4?

Hey there! Yes, that's the best way to play.
