I'd say the biggest reason it sank was because it was incomplete. When a ship is made, there's usually a bunch of really thick walls, that go from the bottom of the ship, to the top. That way if there is a leak, it will only stay in that one part of the ship. However, the Titanic wall, only went nearly to the top, so when one level was full, the rest got filled up slowly. that's one of the reason's it snapped in two. If they were gonna make an 'unsinkable' ship, they should have completed it.

at the time when Titanic was made, any ship over 10,000 tonnes (Titanic being 46,328 tonnes) only had to have 16 lifeboats, thats the main reason they had so few lifeboats, and they were originally going to have enough lifeboats for everyone but they thought so many would be un-neccassary on an 'unsinkable' ship
